HALF PAST DEAD: One Bad Chestnut

When you think of Morris Chestnut, there may be several words that spring to mind:

RICKY!, Sexy chocolate, Great actor.

Pretty much no one ever says “bad buy.” That is, unless they’ve seen this scene from Half Past Dead (premiering Sat. at 8pm [ET]).

We bet Ricky would never shoot a clergyman in cold blood. No, Chestnut really did some stretching from his usual romantic comedy roles to play criminal mastermind 49erOne in Dead. But he’s not the only Hollywood good-guy-gone-bad. Blair Underwood, who’s played a lot of stand-up characters in films like Something New and Set It Off, has also showed his evil side in movies like Asunder and G.

So how do you like your Black male actors — nice or a bit naughty? Take the poll below.

What kind of roles do you like to see Black actors playing?

MARCH MOVIE MADNESS: Ice Cube vs Ice Cube

Welcome to March Movie Madness, the month TV One airs some of the biggest premieres with some of the biggest stars including Samuel L. Jackson in The Cleaner, Terrence Howard in Spark, Pam Grier in Friday Foster and more.

Each week in March, we pit two of our biggest stars against each other in a Fame-off, which actor do you think delievered the goods in a scene from their film?

LAST WEEK: Chris Rock VS Anne Marie Johnson VS Antonio Fargas

THIS WEEK: Ice Cube comes up against his most formidable foe, himself. Cube stars in TWO movies this weekend Higher Learning (Saturday and Sunday at 7:30pm[ET]) and Trespass (Friday and Saturday at 10pm[ET]). He’s a bad ass in both films but it’s up to you to decide which movie he showed Cube at his coolest.

Higher Learning: In John Singleton’s classic look at race and higher education, Cube plays Fudge, a “super senior” who takes NO stuff. In this scene, he rushes a frat house after learning someone committed the number one sin — calling a Black woman the B word. Watch and judge.

Trespass: Ice Cube teamed with fellow rapper/actor/chilled beverage Ice-T for the action-drama Trespass which finds a group of criminals and treasure seekers facing off in an abandoned building. Cube plays tough guy Savon who is more likely to shoot first and ask questions later. Watch and judge.

Now that you’ve seen the clips, it’s time to vote for the best.
