How come when a concern dad of a autistic child and she is in remission from cancer about 4 yrs and I have an idea that could help many, many kids like Diann my daughter but this idea needs some one that has connection with some famous singers . But My question is i have tried writing to the president and asking if he or his wife might be able to listen to my idea but know one seems to care about the little people. So is there any one out there willing to try to help me help many, many autistic kids , kids with cancer issues , I am trying to get set up a real big non proift foundation to take care of these kids insurance ,medical supplies etc. but it can not help my daughter Diann . I quess that the big people do not care about the little people. But this idea really could help many, many kids even possibly even kids that are sick that do not have insurance. sincerly Phillip

I live in the state of Delaware where you were the State Senator for far oh so very long. I believe in my heart of hearts that you above all people know the needs of Medical Universities in this state, and also the needs for Hospitals in this state. Why the states own Capital, which is Dover does not have a Viable or Noted Hospital. What we really have here is an Accelerated Clinic with, and I’m very sorry to say, that is not up to par in thier Practicing Physicians or Nurses at all. The two Heart Specialist seen by my dear departed husband were just really really poor. Poor in knowledge of how to treat him, Poor in Knowldege of the lastest medicines to administer to him, Poor in Juddgment about his health, And Poor in attentiveness and Following Up with him. It got so bad and I only had one incident before I transferred him to Philadelphia where we are originally from. And speaking of attentiveness! This is the worst and I do mean the worst place in the world to get sick and I do mean seriously ill in! The people and supposedly Health Care Givers are just plain out and out Lazy and have a Don’t Care Attitude about every thing they do. And Mr. Vice President I have no doubt in my mind that you Do Not Know This. So please get this First State The Adequate Learning Facilities, Practicioners of all Facets of The Medical Field Here so This First State will be Adequate to Serve Even You if you ever become ill and need Specialists to Minister and Treat YOU? This is a very big issue in this state and needs to be addressed Immediately if Not Sooner! May God Bless you in all you do for the people is my prayer. Please please do not fail us here because if you do many people will continue to DIE and Be Mistreated and left up to go out of thier own state just for sufficient medical care. We either have to go to Philadelphia, Baltimore, or Washington DC to get adequate medical care. And that is not Humanely Sufficient. They have better Animal Hospitals here than Human Ones! Being that it seems the president and the thew important peopl do not care about the little people and can not find time to listen to an idea that could be very helpful to a lot of sick kids , I quess I will have to keep trying other ways to see if the famous singers would help being that the president and vice president are to busy .

Mr. Vice-President Joe Biden, the middle class is in grave condition. We need help desperately. Why wont the White House help us..I worked in the Obama/Biden campaign to help get you guys elected..but I feel like we have been forgotten. Now I know that it has only been 11 mos. but it seems that everything in the middle class is deteriorating at an alarming rate. I know that this adminstration did not create any of these issues that you and the President has had to deal with, but I just don’t know how long the middle class can hang on while everyone else gets bailed out and we get pushed to the curb to look on. We paid our mortgage payments on time but we can’t get help from our banks. We need real heathcare reform because my insurance payments has been going up 30 to 40 percent annually with no explanation and no additional services for the cost. We could use a real money bailout because food, clothes, etc. cost is rising ridiculously and for those of us who have jobs we can’t afford it, but for those who have lost their jobs just simply opt out. for lack of a better word. Mr. Vice-President Joe Biden, the middle class needs this governments help. We were just simply forgotten in the last administration and cannot be forgotten in this one, we won’t survive. Please ask Vice President Biden why Veterans in this country continue to get the shaft with employment and home (help with forclosures.
President Obama campaigned to help past and present Veterans and I and other Veterans believed him at the time, that he was our man. We knew after a 4 year war that Former President Bush just had his agenda and Halaburton’s(Chency)interest and not the Veterans that he sent to fight an unjust 8 year war.
Lies after lies to Congress and the America people and Congress continues to not fight for us.
I know personally because for more years then I want to count know one of this Administrations and former has step up and help us or answered our calls.
The Veterans still get the shaft and lost more then they body parts, families, homes, health, employment, and more, and President like Former President Bush is absent when it come to really doing something.
For 12 months plus I and other Veterans have written President Obama and others for help and we got nothing or any relpies back.
CNN,60 minutes, and other network organizations had done stories about the lack of help that Veterans get and this Administration still act like the former Bush Administration regarding getting us help.
VP Biden should understand if any one does because his son is serving or was serving in Irag. Many of us talk alot while waiting at the VA Hopsital to get services and the conversation is the same everytime, that the President is politics as usual and we the Veteran is still getting the shaft.
Mr. Vice-president, although our Nation is currently facing a mountain of issues from two wars to a deficit spiraling out of control, I am more concern with our economic future.
My question will focus on the economy and the restoration of its health domestically and globally. Can you expound on the future of our economy? Will and/or can the U.S. economy make a transition from an industrialized-consumer based economy to a technological-producing economy? With the emergence of global economic giants such as China, India, and Brazil just to name a few becoming industrialized powers how close are U.S. adversaries to marginalizing U.S. economic influence, leadership, or worst further weakening of the U.S. dollar?
The President spoke of change in how we few and operate our economy. Has he [President Obama] encourage, implemented or directed legislation that will retroactively start the change in our economy? Do you or the President earnestly believe that a key component in changing our economy is linked to the educational system in our country? If so why are there not more federal dollars being put into education focusing on the sciences, math, and technology?
Roland, I have the greatest respect for you and my husband and I record and watch you every Sunday after church and every chance we get to see you on TV or listen to you on the Tom Joyner Morning Show. However, how you could have summed up the President’s address on Tom’s show this morning as “BUSINESS AS USUAL” is beyond me. Please go back and watch/listen to his speech. The President is not a perfect man and may have gotten off track by putting Healthcare at the top of his list with so many Americans out of work, however, I believe you DECIDEDLY failed to receive his message last night along with all the special interest groups, naysayers and Republicans who refuse to bring meaningful agendas to the table but continually criticize him on every issue while living lives of luxury and watching the country struggling. We have watched your position regarding the President change over the last few months and now you seem to have joined the Republicans with a completely CLOSED MIND against the President. Please don’t turn your TV show into another FOX 4 News pitting everyone against this President he needs our help, prayer and encouragement because he has taken on Goliah (the Healthcare system) and the fat cats in Washington who’s pockets have been lined for years by the insurance companies and special interest groups will do anything to defame and demonize this President – disagree with him if you must but not finding anything credible about his speech last night makes one wonder if the Washington disease has finally gotten inside of you because you are allowing yourself to be sucked into the Washington’s cess pool.
Hi Vice President Biden i saw you and President Obama at the basketball game yesterday that was cool to see that you do get out of the white house once in a while. I just want to no why the republicans do not want to help pass the democrats insurance bill ? Also someone has to regulate the banks after all this is why the banks have no money and the taxpayers had to bail them out if the banks continue to do what they want then taxpayers will always be at risk. Sallie Mae vigorously increases his payment sometimes without notice. If my husband chooses to elect a lower payment Sallie Mae penalizies him.
How can he participate (to cap student loan paymets to 10 percent of income above “a basic living allowance.”) in Pres. Obama’s Initiative for the Middle Class that you are heading?

This is regarding your State of Delaware.I have a son who has a herniated disc pressing on his cyatic nerve-pain in neck and head, no job because of these problems, did get on Medicaide BUT his Dr. told him that the Insurance that covers Medicaide is looking over his case and will let him know what they decide. How would you feel if you were in this position, and no one would help you. No money coming in, and in constant pain?? He lives with his brother and cannot even give him money toward food. The Dr. said his hands are tied. You have passed a stupid Health Care Bill that makes things even worse-fining people who don’t have insurance-that’s the craziest thing I have ever heard-what you need is to help these people who can’t afford insurance but I guess you would rather see them die or kill themselves-that way you don’t have to be bothered-All of you in our messed up government should have to walk a year in the shoes of the poor!!!!!

Though I try to watch every week, I sometimes miss the poignant commentary and the, usually, interesting guests.
I enjoy the panel discussions and the input from panelists whether or not I agree with what they’ve said. I learn something from every show.
I was surprised when, recently, I saw April Ryan (American Urban Radio) on a “mainstream” talk show. She’s usually so opinionated and appears to be biting at the bit to give voice to her position that I’ve seen her step on others’ comments to make her own. When panelists become a little too enthusiaxtic, you’ve taken charge and pulled everyone back into line.
This was why I was so surprised when April, very uncharacteristically, waited for her turn to speak on this other show. She almost appeared to defer to the others around the table. I kept waiting for her to find her voice. It seemed curiosly lost to her that morning.
Since we all have that occassional off-day, I hope to see the real April stand up and make her presence known the next time she’s invited to appear on one of those other shows.

How about a new law,to protect innocent unborn fetus, from drug and alcohol cigarette abuse, while a young woman is pregnant,this is child endangerment and child abuse , that leave these children with a lifetime of mental illness, that would never live a normal life, they can’t learn and it’s cruel,where are their civil rights to be able to come into this world without any major mental health problems and try to live a normal life, and most of these children come into the world violent, from drug with draw and severe brain damage, you have to ask yourself, is there a link , between our youth today and gun violence in this country , and how many times did a innocent bystander get killed in the line of fire, stop the bleeding before it starts by making this a felony, to use drugs alcohol and smoke cigarettes or any other kind of illegal control substance while pregnant,it’s a law for doctors to report gun shot and stab wounds victims, who need medical treatment, doctors should be able to report women who abuse drugs and alcohol to their unborn fetus, also it should help our mental healthcare problems as well thank you!
Why does it look like the president and vice president look like they do not want to help autistic /cancer kids ?
I am president of the Diann Hoffmaster foundation once we have anough funds we want to help autism /cancer kids with there health insurance, medical supplies, copays.
The only thing keeping us from helping the kids is anough funds , I t would be helpfull if the president or Vice president or first lady could find a few minutes to listen to parent that knows how important this dream to come true.Will they every find the time to really listen to the people?
As I read the effects of the oil spill on the gulf my heart goes out to the residents and the affected wildlife. However, I do not understand the Republican/Conservative politicians and supporters that hold President Obama personally responsible as if he pumped the oil himself. I didn’t see all of this political republican (Bush Adm) out cry when we had people on top of roofs, homes washed away, loved one’s (human beings)gone. What gives? Why has no one mentioned this? I don’t bring this up to minimize what’s happening in the gulf. It just seems that conservative America has no perspective and will use ANYTHING for political gain.
I watched your program for the first time this morning and really enjoyed the conversation. I also agree with you about how the president is handling the oil spill. I beleive he is doing all that he can do, and he doing a good job too. There is nothing he or anyone can do until the leak is stopped, I have worked on oil spills in the past and with any spill, you got to stop it first, or plug it, or seal it. As for emotions I am not emotional either, I just beleive in getting the job done, and he will too.
why when there’s a news story that’s tragic concerning blacks or latinos you hear the storyline for that day then nothing!!! no follow up and if there’s one it a tragedy by one of there own race which the public dramatizes. but,if it’s a caucasian the whole world know about it all day long, every channel, breaking news, etc. i thought i was just streotyping like everyone else but i’ve been watchingand it;s true. even in the newspaper.

Mr. Martin. I am originally from New Orleans. I currently live in Carrollton, TX where I have lived since August 29, 2005. My family arrived here the day Katrina came ashore in south LA. I saw the show that aired Sunday, 7/11/2010. Your conversation with Terry Jones, Gerard Stevens and Renette Hall did not examine the role of local elected officials and members of the LA Congressional delegation in opposing the moratorium on oil drilling. Specifically, if the water is so important to economic development, as pointed out by Ron Chisholm and Tyrone Edwards, why are these elected officials not more interested in the fight for effective safety regulations on oil companies operating in the Gulf? Also, why did you not follow-up when Renette Hall told you that Gov. Jindal had vetoed money for oil clean-up? What needs to be exposed to the nation is the shortsightedness and hypocrisy of Jindal’s action and other actions by LA legislators. These questions need to be followed up so that viewers have a more balanced view of the problem. Where is the LA Congressional delegation? Do they agree with Gov. Jindal? I hope you will expand your coverage with these issues. Also, what I would like to see is more balanced reporting on what has been done and what needs to be done by local officials, state officials and the federal government, including the Congress. The lesson of Hurricane Katrina was that each level of government had a role and each level failed. Is this again happening with the BP disaster? Thank you.

I have a 2yr. old and a 5yr. old. My 5 yr. old needs extensive Dental work, and they both need Immunizations. I was told that I make too much money(gross income)to qualify for Medical Assistance for my two children. WHY? I have 4 children and a husband who has no job. I travel from PA to MD to work,lost my home and have had to move 3 times in the past year. Even the “CHIP” program tells me that I will be put on a one year waiting list. Kids need immunizations to start school, so if I can’t pay for them, my child suffers…..WHERE IS THE HEALTHCARE REFORM? HELP..what is too much income when you have to take care of six people and pay gas,electric,phone,auto pymt & ins., buy food, household and personal items? When will help come?
