Trend? The majority of Americans are not so short-sighted as to believe that after just 10 months on the job, Pres. Obama can work magic with the mess he was handed. According to exit polls the President still has greater than 50% approval ratings in both NJ and Virginia. I believe the losses reflect the candidates and voter turnout, which is historically lower in local elections. People were highly motivated to vote for Pres. Obama. He is under intense pressure because people are hurting, weary of war and the health-care farce. But barring a major fumble, I don't believe people will go running and screaming back to 'Republica' any time soon. At least, I really hope not.

Peace!

Ervin is right it doesn't matter who is in the white house we didn't get into this mess over night and we will not get out of it overnight. What Obama is doing is only a tip of the iceberg and it will take more people after him to keep it going. People are always want to jump ship when the going gets tought inside being still and letting God work it out.

You know, it doesn't matter who is in office. What people forget is that it was years of mis-management that got us into this situation and its going to take years of sound moves to get us out.

Karen C. has a point. A lot of it isn't government related so much as it was our own selfish desires. Its going to be a long range project. True, some things can happen and need to happen now but a lot of this is going to take years to clean up. America needs change alright....change in their own attitude about things!

Yes, America needs change. We are materialistic, greedy and selfish. We need unity and most important more love truely for God and family.

Yes, Americans were looking for change -yesterday. But, that's unreasonable. While this is to be expected of republicans, whose goal is to undermine the president's efforts, it only follows the trend that has allowed them to repeatedly divide and conquer democrats.

One of the reasons we (blacks and democrats) often get the short end of things is because too many of us are shortsighted and give up too easily. Recovery hasn't been instantaneous, and therefore, many have become disenchanted and are beginning to abandon ship. Where's the spirit of endurance? Some of us are behaving as though voting was only last year's fad. The turnout at the polls today has been ridiculously low, as if the fight is already over.

It has only been a quick year since the election. Come on, folks. Don't faint already!

President Truman on his desk in the White House had a stated plainly sign "The Buck Stops Here". President Obama is the head of the Democratic party and must be given credit for the party's successes as well as failures.

This was not going to be a cake walk. It is probably the toughest time any President has ever faced. What has made our best President great is the fact that they won over tough challenges. If Obama is ever going to known for more than just being the first Black President he must over come the the Economy, the Wars and Healthcare in that order.
