THIS WEEK ON WASHINGTON WATCH: ASK MICHAEL STEELE

Republican National Comittee Chairman Michael Steele will be sitting down this weekend with Roland Martin to dicuss his party’s big wins in some key local races. Steele, who was named the first African American RNC head during the same year that President Barack Obama was elected, has been very critical of the administration and has said that Pres. Obama is “bankrupting the country.”

Here’s your chance to get your questions directly to him. If you want Michael Steele to hear you submit your comment below and be sure to add your city/state to ensure we see your comment.

Need to know more about Steele? Here’s video of him speaking earlier this year where he addressed fellow Republicans on how to take on the president.

Please ask the Chairman, if the Governor races are a rebuke of the Democrats, what do the results in NY 23 say to the GOP?

I would like to ask MR Steel do he ever go back and listen to how ignorant and uninformed his statement are? There is nothing wrong with differents views, it is needed but when you continue to make a fool out of yourself and your own people are laughing at you, then the time is to come with something constructive.

With regards to Dede Scozzafava, does he feel that the comments made by Palin, Limbaugh and others positively reflect the goals of the GOP to revive the party?

What steps has the GOP taken to revive their party and expand their constituency since the 2008 election? Detailed examples would be beneficial.

I would like to ask Mr. Steele, what is his feelings on the history of America having the first black President because I believe it had an influence on his present position in the GOP. I remember when he was running for office in Maryland, they treated him like a black man and put him through scrutiny; even as far as checking his credit without his knowledge.

Hello, Chairman Steele and thanks for your time. As a 24-year old independent voter, I must say that I was very impressed with your ‘06 Senate run here in the state of Maryland and how positive it was. That being said, I must say I’ve grown tired of the extremes of both parties (whether its Olbermann or some MSNBC people on the left, or Limbaugh/Hannity/Beck on the right) and I was proud when you initially called Limbaugh for what he was (an entertainer) but then was disappointed when u seemed to quickly distance yourself from those statements. Going forward, do you agree with the Limbaugh idea that a “pure, true” conservative GOP is the best way going forward, or are you of the Newt Gingrich believe that you have to adapt to the geography of the candidate?

Why does Mr. Steele believe that his success and accomplishments in education and employment were not influenced by affirmative action policies nor civil rights laws?

I have two questions for Mr. Steele, but if there is time for only one, please ask the second one:

1. Is he a lifelong republican?
2. With which principles of the party does he most closely identify, and why?

Thank you.

Greetings Chairman Steele,

I think that a small government is good is certain situations. HOWEVER, I find it hard to support the GOP when the loudest voices are Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Sarah Palin. All of the people that I have just named have race baited.
Glen Beck called Pres. Obama a racist, Sarah Palin said that she was proud to be a redneck, Sean Hannity refered to Michelle Obama as an angry black woman and I do not have enough time to repeat all the ugly things that Rush has said.
Why don’t you denounce these people and the things they say, like you demanded Pres. Obama to do against Jimmy Carter?
If General Colin Powell can stand up against this nasty rhetoric surely you can too.

Please ask Mr. Steele this one question for me. Are the People of Color their own worst enemies? Why is it mostly every nationality have loyalty except those who think they do not need their own people. Divide and conquer is the motto of every land but our own. Shame on us. And I am an American.

Mr. Steele,
How much are you being paid to sellout your people, country, and humanity?

How do you reconcile Rush Limbaugh and generally the racial overtone that dominates much of the republication party….and for those who don’t adhere to it, they are silent on the issue (including yourself). Stated otherwise, why doesn’t anyone of prominence within the republican party challenge R. Limbaugh???

Mr. Steele,

What have the republican party achieve in this first year that was bipartism that move the country forward in stable ability. Please do not include the democrates or president in your answer we get those talking points from the media. Give of examples.

I would like to know how Michael Steele
being a minority in the Republicna Party will relate to African Americans to help us see why we should support “his” party?

Mr. Steele apparently and selectively has fogotten that it is Ronald Reagan, Bush the fatrher and George Bush and the Republican/Conservatives who brought these hard times to America and ripped the country off. We won’t foget it the next election either. Winning in VA, and NJ is meaningless and spind. Republican Conservatives with their unregulated markets, behind the scenes
bank derivatives and crocked bankers, greed driven mortgages, wars we shouldn’t be in along with the greed of Wallstreet is what brought America to these economic straight. President Obama has taken on the task to clean this corruption up and he’s doing an incredible job. He’s a President not a magician. Why weren’t Mr. Steele crying foul when his party was ripping the country off? If Mr. Steele thinks the Republican/conservatives takes him serious, just remember King Kong the eigth wonder of the world. “I wonder how and why Mr. Steele became Chairman of the RNC after the election of President Obama. Mr. Steele is a joke. So was King Kong.

Mr Steele: Why are cities that predominantly voted for Democratic have the highest crime rate, highest unemployment?

Do you think the Democratic Party take the black community for granted because they know they can count on our support come election time?

Mr. Steele my brother, keep up the good work. The road is never easy but you must stand for truth. Our brethren in the Democratic party are blinded by the “black messiah”. His policies are failing in the present and will continue to fail in the future. May God bless you my brother.

One way to make a change is to start with City, State, and Government offices to stop thinking like the heads in Congress. They have their 401k plans in order, their medical insurance in order. Stop thinking like a Bush, and think like human-beings that are part of the lower-middle class living in America also.

How is President Obama going to change by himself when the people in these positions are constantly looking down on those in need?

Start by putting college graduates in the offices of the housing authorities across America. Start by putting college graduates in all so called entry level positions, and pay them for their education, and dedication to getting one. You can not put a depressed person making minimum wage in a position to help others. They are angry already.

Marcus Garvey is rolling around in his grave. Everything he tried to get us to do then NEEDS to be done now. That is THE reason we are still begging for scraps from Dems(goverment), Rep(business)is because we did not listen to MARCUS GARVEY!!!

I have one thing to say to the RNC Steele, “STOP IT!”, just stop the nonsense. Greed and dishonest politicians have been trying to bankrupt this country. Politicians paying favors to lobbyist for their own selfish gain etc… We have been fighting a war for the last 8 or 9 years, if that hasn’t bankrupted us, I doubt if Obama’s 11 month term has put us there. I am a registered Republican, but I don’t like this ranting from my party. It’s not healthy or helpful. We have to pull together and do what’s right and best for all of us. What I’m seeing more and more is, people don’t want a bale out until it’s one for them, and it can’t be like that. Politicians have been privately baling out their lobbyist buddies for years. Look at the laws and see who they are written to protect. So Steele and the rest of his party should start being a part of the solution and not part of the problem and trying to prevent change. Change was due to come, it had to come and now it’s here. Embrace it!

Mr.Steel explain to like a 6 year old. Where were you and the Republican party, the Tea Party’s, the Politicians, Where was Rush, The Fox network. When They were letting the Companies ship your Jobs to other countries because they could get them done for .25 cent’s a day bring them back and you pay top dollars for cheap mad Clothes, cars, appliances, ect, ect. Where were your voices then. It’s Ok that you have the greates Health in the country and never look at your neighor. I dare you to send your bills or ask for help from Rush or those on Fox News and ask them for help. You are just a floor mat from them to vent there hate for the President. Mr Steel you are the bigges joke of all. No I may disagree with a lot of things, but THE REPUBLICAN Party of “NO” don’t give a SUGARHONEYICETEA about you are anyone Black,Brown or anyone that don’t look like them “WE Want our COUNTRY back. Good news they weren’t the only ones that died for this Country. ALL RACES fought for this country. Except for Dick Chaney. I guess he did’t feel very much for it. But it was OK for your Husband,Wives, Son’s and daughters. So Mr. Steel watch your back.

first of all I think being a black republican he’s lost, the position he holds is using him and if obama doesn’t become president,he would not hold that position how does it feel to have all those smarts and be so blank. mr. steele makes me laugh he’s pitiful.

Mr. Steele, I look at the makeup of some of the extremists in your party. The one thing you should realize is that no matter how hard you try to blend in with them, at the end of the day, you are still the “N” word to them.
