Rance, my favorite at the Georgia Aquarium is the Beluga whales also. Watching them relaxed me.

I was there in May for the graduation of one of my daughters, and happened to catch the Titanic exhibit, too. That was very interesting. Atlanta has become one of my favorite cities.

Thanks for the info. I sent my email this morning. He did nothing for which he should apologize.

He’s also getting some flack for using the word “holocaust’ (with a small ‘h’) in relation to the current health care situation. Many Jewish people responded that he needs to apologize for using what it seems they believe to be “their” word. Never mind that Grayson is Jewish also. Don’t think he needs to apologize for that , either.

But from what I can see, Atlanta is doing okay compared to the rest of the country. So, I looked it up to be sure, and according to a March 2009 Forbes article, Atlanta was #24 on the list of best metros in America for business and careers.

I don’t know about LA, but downtown Atlanta was pretty bland prior to the Olympics. Now Centennial Olympic Park is a popular concert venue. Increased tourism, upgrades to infrastructure and other entertainment and sports venues are why Atlanta was chosen to host the largest aquarium in North America, the 2000 Major League All-Star game, 2002 NCAA Final Four, 2000 Superbowl. Best of all, my niece worked as an extra in the movie ‘Drumline’ filmed in part at the Georgia Dome. How do you like that? Oh, yeah, I know I sound like a travel agent. But I had to stick up for my ATL. Has its flaws but a great American city.

Your comment about Atlanta’s economic boom is sad and true. The Olympics did nothing for Atlanta. The city has been suffering economically, not to mention the increase in crime.

Government wasting taxpayers money. I thought this president came into power under the banner of CHANGE. Bush wasted taxpayers money on fighting wars. Obama less than a year in office, continuing the WASTE.

WHERE IS THE CHANGE???

Distorting the truth by a Democrat doesn’t make distorting the truth by a Republican acceptable.

Lack of civility by a Republican shouldn’t mean we condone lack of civility by a Democrat.

Sexual infidelities by members of the Democratic Party is equally disgusting when members of the Democratic Party are guilty of such acts.

There is enough slime in each party to sicken the stomach of Americans.

So anyone who for a second thinks that their party choice is immaculate, above reproach is living a fantasy.

On the issue of the President lobby for the Olympics in 2016:

Make up your mind, Larry. First you say Obama is trying to secure the Olympics to enrich his friends. Then you say Olympic hosts lose money. I have lived in/around Atlanta since before the 1996 Olympics, and I am an eye witness to the boost this provided to the economy, especially housing and retail markets. Which cities are you talking about?

Again, Larry, make up your mind. ‘Credible news source’…’all over the Internet’…’doesn’t mean it’s true.” What the what? I’ve never been on any debate team, but I know the basics. Argument should be fortified by fact, not hearsay. And telling your opponent to ‘look it up’ doesn’t wash either. If you believe these Marxism ties are true, you should be able to bring up at least one name on a moment’s notice. But you have the luxury of taking the time to research your answer. This makes your performance even sadder than Sarah Palin’s Kouric interview.

Of note, again no answer on China/Russia/Venezuela.
