Granted, the debate over health care has gotten heated. There’s been lots of yelling, harsh words and hurt feelings, which is all well and good considering we have freedom of expression but what’s up with all the guns?

On Monday, while President Obama was speaking at the Veterans of Foreign War convention in Arizona there was a health care reform rally right next door where a man was seen carrying a semi-automatic gun.

And this man, who did not give his name, is only one of a growing number of people showing up strapped when Pres. Obama is in town. The Huffingtonpost.com is reporting there was yet another man at the same rally packing heat. According to the Associated Press, the number of armed citizens at the Phoenix, Arizona rally is actually closer to twelve, all of which were acting WITHIN the state’s law that allows them to carry weapons in public.

But what about the two men toting guns at Pres. Obama’s New Hampshire rally last week? One was arrested for carrying a loaded, un-licensed firearm while the other guy, whose legal gun was strapped to his leg, was carrying a sign that quoted Thomas Jefferson’s warning against seated power: “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

Granted, the second amendment allows for U.S. citizens to own guns, but what does all this display of firearms have to do with health care reform?

TELL US: Do you believe the people showing up at Obama rallies with guns are just expressing their right to bear arms or do you think they are legitimate threats to the president’s life?

The American Association of Retired People is VERY invested in health care reform, and while they have not officially supported the current bill, the AARP is doing their bid to get the truth out there and combat all those scary ads that would have you believing we’re headed for 1950s Communist Russia.

If Michael Jackson is the King of Pop, R. Kelly is the self-proclaimed King of R&B and Bobby Brown is questionably the Kang of that same genre then it seems more than fair to crown President Obama the King of Political History.  How is that possible?  It’s simple. Not only did he become the First African American president; he has also been able to make history during his administration.

Think Eric Holder and stem cell research.  The most recent example is the confirmation of Judge Sonia Sotomayor.  Sotomayor is now the nation’s first Hispanic Supreme Court justice.  As a daughter of immigrants, she rose from a Bronx housing projects to become a well-respected legal professional.  She is officially a member of what could be the most historical presidential administration ever.

Joker-facing is the Photoshop trend that morphs a person’s image to that of the Joker, a character seen in most Batman films.  It has been used on former President George W. Bush, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and now President Barack Obama.  It was never a big-deal before but as Obama’s joker-face image emerges its leaving a few people feeling uncomfortable.  Captioned with the term SOCIALISM, Obama’s joker-face has people wondering what the whole joker-face means anyway.  Is it a political statement or a joke? 

There’s a thin line of what’s funny in regards to Obama because as some have suggested, it could be interpreted as a modern blackface sambo.

So what do you think?  Is there a fine line between what’s funny when it comes to President Obama because he’s Black or is he fair game like everyone else?

Our first Black President, Barack Hussein Obama, is celebrating his 48th birthday today and wouldn’t you know it, his critics have something to say about it.

Namely that we can’t be sure that Pres. Obama is indeed 48-years-old or even a U.S. Citizen.

Known as the ‘Birthers,’ a small, but loud group lead by dentist Orly Taitz, this loosely affiliated group claim Barack Obama is not really the president because he’s not really from the United States.

Though widely dismissed by researchers, biographers and even the Obama campaign, who posted his Honolulu, Hawaii birth certificate online last June, the Birthers have ironically gained steam even six months into Obama’s presidency with the conspiracy theory that Pres. Obama’s certificate is false and that we was actually born in Kenya, his father’s country.

So, since it seems the President won’t be holding any lavish birthday events, The Daily Obama is saying “Happy Birthday” by putting this Birther mess down once and for all.
