OBAMA’S GRANDMOTHER DIES

BREAKING NEWS:
CNN confirms that after a battle with cancer, Barack Obama’s 85-year-old grandmother, Madelyn Payne Dunham has died.

It was only a little over a week ago that Obama left his campaign to visit his ill grandmother in Honolulu.  The Democratic candidate visited the apartment where his grandparents raised him for much of his life and spent time with his grandmother.

Dunham’s health, after suffering from a broken hip, took a turn for the worse.  Obama has credited his grandmother for much of his success.

On the eve of what could be Obama’s greatest success, we send our thoughts to him and his family.

Send your condolences to the Obama family.

PROBLEMS AT THE POLLS?

As early voting issues have erupted, it’s fair to say that the rest of voters may want to hid to the polls prepared for anything—rain, long lines, clothing regulations, registration discrepancies, ID concerns and any other wild card issue that could occur to you or the person next to you.

Among several voter issues, CNN has reported that new registered voters have received letters stating that they cannot vote because they are not citizens.  One in particular, Kyla Berry, was born in Boston.  “So someone like Kyla Berry will be allowed to cast a provisional ballot when she votes, but it’s up to county election officials whether those ballots would actually count” (CNN).

With all of the excitement of this election, it’s important to understand that anything can and will happen.  Be patient, prepared and pro-active.  Know your rights and be willing to help protect the others who may not be as aware.
