PRES. OBAMA LIFTS CUBA RESTRICTIONS

President Obama has lifted restrictions on travel to Cuba for Cuban-Americans. This is big news! There’s been a 47-year travel ban to Cuba for Americans and the President’s decision could be a major shift in U.S. policy toward Cuba.
Even for Cuban-Americans there are many limitations that remain, but the President’s effort shows that he’s keeping his word on bettering American relations with the rest of the world. The lift comes as a gateway to other possibilities for Cuban-American relations. With the state of things, a better relationship with Cuba could open a trade relationship and strengthen the economy. Of course, things take time and the safety of Americans is a number one priority, but if Cuba is ready to compromise—there’s nothing wrong with trying.
Think about it, first Cubans will be allowed back and maybe within a couple years—the rest of Americans will be planning their first vacation to Cuba.
