I’m from Miami, Florida. This was my first time viewing this show. I must say i was put off by all the yelling. There is a distinct difference between a passionate debate and a screaming match. There were attempts at constructive dialogue but the interruptions are very distracting.

I don’t get it this health care is not free its just cheaper. I think you should get what you pay for. Abortion is a health care issue therefore it should be covered.thats the problem with these health care companys now they pay for what they deem as nessesary not what the doctors say is nessesary. I pay over $400 a month for health coverage for my husband and I which is the same thing someone with 4 children and a husband is paying so yes I should be able to get an abortion if I pay for medical coverage.

I’m from Rowlett, Texas. I have ideas on multiple points that were discussed during the dialogue; however, the focal point is whether or not the govt healthcare coverage should cover abortion. Well, my opinion is that abortion should not allowed period, except under certain circumstances i.e. rape, molestation and or incest. My belief is that this should not be part of the govt healthcare coverage.

no one should be forced to do what they dont want to do as long as they know what they want,it is their first ammendment right rather than some gun -totting

I’m from California, tuned in for the first time and enjoyed the show and the discussion! Nice to hear the black perspective on politics, so refreshing!!! I think all health issues and conditions should be covered and that a real comrpehensive health care bill be put before the senate. Who is writing this thing? It’s a farce of a healthcare plan. We can do better!! Come on America!

Abortion is not going to sink healtcare. It is the lack of a common sense approach from governement What should a Health care system for the masses look like.

There has been much discussion, screaming and a lack of civility on both sides of the Healthcare issue. I don’t care who enacts legislation, but I would like to see a three tiered Healthcare Government funded (not administered) solution.

The 1st tier would be a system of Neighborhood clinics run by trained folks who would either be at a level of Physician’s Assistant (what the Military uses) or Para Medics. These folk would not write or provide any prescription drugs. Like a Military Sick Call, the reason for their existence would be to detect and report infectious diseases (e.g., Swine Flu) and provide over-the-counter solutions to patients. Their reporting would ensure any Business who requires their employees to report to work with a contagious disease would be held accountable. Government funding and/or volunteers would be required.

The 2nd tier would be to fund (not administer) support to U.S. Citizen and Legal immigrants Health Care for those individuals who have not been offered Health care through their employer.

The 3rd tier would provide catastrophic Health care funding to those who do not have a source of Health care support. The amount of funding provided would be based on an evaluation of the parson’s lifestyle and utilizing (or attempting to utilize) preventive medicine practices directed by a Medical Doctor. I refuse to pay for a heart transplant, as an example, for someone who consciously abuses their body (smokers, alcoholics, drug users, etc.)

These are the solutions I, as a taxpayer, want to see voted on and passed by both the Congress and the Senate.

I recently joined watching this program and I agree with a previous commentator, the shouting and talking over each one is distracting and makes it difficult to follow the subject. This program is informative and I just learned that the real hero in Fort Hood Texas is a Black man ad was ignored. I appreciate your passion Roland and I thank you for supporting our President during the campaign and innauguration, I saw you and Soledad Obrien on the mall in DC. Keep up the good work, but get better conrols when talking to your guest.

First time watching this show but the interruotions and yelling was a turn off.

I just tuned in the disscussion of the public health care otpion, my take on this issue is! I really don’t want any Public option .I do agree we need reform! as far as Abortion, if their is to be a Public option It’s has to be apart of the plan.Micheal Steel says we should not spend our tax dollars concerening this issue. Well what’s happeneing is! Our politcians are mixing religion with politics and we can’t do that! what our government prefers, is to spend and waste millions of dollars on poverty stricken, or should i say! self imposed life style of poverty, meaning being poor. It’s okay for the governmnet to encourage children to have children! and these kids are not being raised and most importantly loved~ Yes! let them contuine to have child after child, provide housing for them, feed them, and sooner or later jail them, as long as we the honest, hard working folks allow our government to pay for it! it will be cheaper in the long run to provide Abortion as a option, then to contuine to encourage that dependent mentallity and have no plans to prevent poverty in America! I don’t want my government to contuine to spend and waste my tax dollor on unwanted, unloved children, and most of all uneducated, unfit Parents /Mothers. and Roland this is my perspective.

Abortion is not a health care issue! I do not believe that the government should pay for someone “moral” decision to have an abortion! Now if she has health insurance that allows that than okay. But, for the government to pay for it “NO”. If a woman is going to have sex, she needs to have strong protection to keep her from getting pregnant, other wise close her legs, and she wouldn’t have to worry about getting rid of her aftermath pleasure! No government money for abortion!!!!
