I’m perplexed, is it worth the vote? Normally a resolute democratic supporter I’ve watched my property taxes hike my monthly mortgage payment up just beyond our ability to pay it. As a resident of the fair garden state of New Jersey I wonder are the democrats I support supporting me? We put our hopes in our elected officials with the understanding that they will stand on our behalf, not stand on our backs to accomplish their personal agendas. So I ask, is our effort to vote truly worth our efforts? Will our Mayors, Governors and Assembly people really go to work for us or will they just work us over? We speak about our right to vote, our duty to vote, our obligation to vote well where is the duty and obligation of those we elect to reciprocate? Are they as invested in us once victory is secured as we are in them when we push that button next to their names?

In these upcoming elections I see but one real reason as a democratic voter to put forth the effort, because our President will need as much support from a democratic majority as he can possibly obtain. Were it not for President Obama I see little reason to place back into office those who are basically cutting us off at the knees. So I guess we just take one on the chin for the good of the team!
