what the black preachers should do is not just pass around the offering plate but they should also pass around a registration sign up sheet for voters since ACORN will not be heavily involved anymore. if they want to get their issues heard then they should herd their masses to the voting booths
I agree,Black preachers want to be heard in the pulpit but in the important issues when it concerns black people!!!! If they could really get the message that Dr, King was fighting for, then we will have another King! Such as poverty, homeless, unemployed, and even health care! These are human issues that even Jesus if he were here, would be fighting for. Black preachers to me, are still catering to the white conservative churches. Which are the Pharissees!
President Obama promise to restore SCIENCE to its rightful olace. African-American must learn that that none of the religous text have any scientfic base. They are a collection of folk lore, allegories, myth and astro-thelogy. Many ministers are now learning this but fearful of teaching their member due to long held indoctrinations. NOVA-PBS has produced a series title “Becoming HUMAN” It begins this Tuesday Nov. 3, 2009 @ 8:00 pm EST. As painful as it may be America must finally learn the TRUTH

Please consider viewing this series it would help America to understand and possible solve some of the problems we are confronting.

Whe what passes for ministers in this country get off of their behinds and stop watching what is placed in the collection plate as do their part in trying to solve the problems of poverty, homelessness, unemployment, school dropouts and other issues, then I might be interested in what they have to say.
Look at the neighborhoods around most of the black churches to see what the black so-called ministers are doing for or in the black community.
Absolutely nothing.
