I think hip hop has change because black people have not stay true to its roots and the beauty of how it came to be and how it comes from the black community. There for its not being pass down to the next generation and they are being born into the present day seen just the crazie images and bad wording and the images other people want to see of Africa Amercan people. This is why people think Hip Hop has made a turn for the worse. Hip Hop came to be because alot of black youth got together dancers hair stylelist singing etc you name it started going out to the clubs to have fun. They didnt go to drink or fight or to kill each other like they tell you in the media. They were goin to club to create something where there was nothing in the first place. Not even knowing the Hip Hop would be born. But we have to be strong to our own minds and not be slaves to the recond companies, Tv, radio, and news papers. We have to be true to who we are as a poeple. The atrists have to let people what is entertament and how they are as person behind the music. Then hip hip will move up to higher ground with positive messages and Beauty.

jonesboro,GA Gangsta rappers are dangerously close to the dreaded town hall meeting gangs! They spew their poison, do thier damage, then claim foul play once they are criticized for it. It's freedom of speech. It's the, "you don't know where I come from" defense.

Like the town hall meeting gangs, the rappers take no responsibility for the impact that they leave behind. As the infamous character Nino Brown stated, "It's the American Way!"

I commend Ludacris for throwing his community a proverbial bone, but, even Nino Brown gave out turkeys. So I ask, how many community programs does it take to clear a conscious? To Luda I say, "get yo' money bro" cause you just may have to pay a very heavy price for your soul.

First of all, it's more to hip hop than just B---- and H-,Secondly my people,a positive rap song is not going to change the damage a 20 year crack war caused.Instead of quickly pointing out rappers faults, take a few minutes and look at the good.Majority of the rappers are married with their kids living respectfully, why don't you "Too Good Negroes"highlight that.

First of all Roland I love your show and it's great to see you distance yourself somewhat from the pot-stirers at CNN. Concerning the issue of hip-hop I would love to see these hip-hop artist truly invest their time and efforts in deprograming the program they started in the minds of young people with lyrics and gangsta videos that have led to the current stereotypic mindset. It has caused lack of respect for parents, authority, and the condition of their community. Because they don't live in the neigborhoods depicted in their videos anymore and their children don't see people die on the street everyday. I would like to see them put out more messages that keep kids out of gangs and prison, so that the prison populous is not so black anymore. Then I would believe young men like Ludacris and Lil Wayne etc. instead of seeing people like them and many of our professional sports players go to jail because they can't seem to remember long standing guns laws.

No, I haven't noticed a change. The day I notice a change in hip-hop will be the day that the fans of hip-hop stop buying the type of rap that degrades women and the day they start selling-out the music of positive hip-hop artists (including hip-hop gospel). As of today, the top-selling, and most popular hip-hop artists are the ones who routinely speak about women in derogatory terms. These men are millionaires because the very women they degrade in their raps and their videos, are the same misguided women who are buying this damaging, so-called "music". It's mind-boggling to me and I wish that I could end this attitude.

First of all, Ludacris did not specifically answer the question relative to change in hip hop since Obama took office. The hip hop discussion didn't go far enough relative to the disgusting language used by our black youths in the music industry for the sake of making money and sacrificing respect, integrity, and dignity. However, I do appreciate Luda making a positive difference in the black community. Would love to see some data relative to the effectiveness of his project
