THIS WEEK ON WASHINGTON WATCH: WHO WANTS THE PUBLIC OPTION?
This text will be replaced
The debate on health care rages on and this week on Washington Watch, Roland talks about President Obama’s uptick in support of a public option but Washington Times reporter Tara Wall doesn’t agree.
TELL US: Do you support a public option as part of health care reform?
I wonder who Tara Wall is speaking to that causes her to believe that there is no support for a public option?
I believe that there should be a public option and all my family, friends and associates that I have spoken with have their own personal healthcare nightmares — even those with ‘great’ insurance.
People are speaking amongst themselves even though they may have not gone to the healthcare hearings. I have sent letter, emails and have called all my elected officials my parents’ elected officials since they are not computer savvy.
I am glad that the ‘left’ is pushing for a public option in healthcare. I am glad that Rep Grayson (D-FL) is speaking up. I would love to hear some black elected officials speaking loudly and boldly for a public option. That is the only way to ensure that there is enough pressure to make us get the best possible health care reform bill.
I believe that President Obama is glad that the left is pushing (no matter what the WH staff says) because he can sign a bill that Americans want and say “this is what the people are demanding.”
We all have the opportunity to make the healthcare systems better for our family and friends.

GREAT show Roland!!!
I agree with Paulette. I along with all who I know want the public option. I too have written letters, sent emails, called my representatives, etc in an attempt to voice my viewpoint on the subject. I am becoming increasingly disappointed with President Obama’s (seemingly) lack of conviction in regards to the public option. Along with millions of other Americans, I voted for him for this reason. Now he seems to back off of the subject of the public option. Although he expresses his “hope” for it, it seems to me that this issue is far too important to leave dangling in hope. I am dissapointed with his absence. I think that he should be more visible to the American public and express unequivically that he will not support a bill w/out the public option. I for one would like to beleive in him now as strongly as I did when I voted for him. Without health reform that includes a strong public option, I won’t be able to support this Administration in 2012. We voted a democratic majority in order to get this done. If not now, we may never get it done. I for one will not continue to support leaders (black or white) who disregard the voices of
76% of Americans. I beleive that at least 76% of Americans want a public option in spite of the bull crap that republican leadership, Fox news, insurance lobbyist and companies are trying to feed us. For 8 years we allowed the Bush administration drag us through the mud and spoon feed us lies. I say, enough is enough. It’s time for them to listen to us for a change!
most of black america are out of thier minds. it sounds all nice to free health care but nothing is free. true health care reform has to be tweaked(tort reform, state to state competition). other countries(canada, poland, australia to name a few) are now implementing private options for their core medical services. this demonic health care bill will weaken the dollar & have it to crash in the years to come. it is socialism at its extreme(communism). the demoncrats will lose in 2010 & 2012 big time if this beheomoeth passes. tara wall was right, most americans do not want this. blacks only make 13% of the population & hispanics make up 15% of the population. white america is not feeling the black messiah & his depraved agenda and neither are independent critical free thinking blacks who happen to be conserative & republican.
