I think the GOP is making a mistake in not using Steele to attract and retain Black (and minority) voters by allowing him to tailor the Party’s message and values to appeal to this segment of the population, (I have to add I’d be interested in hearing that particular message myself) as I feel their past policies have done more harm and show the weakness of them being unable to translate or see the relativity to others outside of the corporations, wealthy and White power brokers that they now appear to represent.

Steele is ambitious and the GOP had to have known (or perhaps underestimated) Steele’s propensity to be outspoken and the one criticism I can’t place on him is that he isn’t acting Black enough. With his comments to the GOP power structure that they could either “get out of the way or shut up”, sounds like they got a true undercover brother on their hands!

Although I don’t share his political affiliation, I feel that he only took advantage of the opportunity presented before him in taking the RNC Chairman Position, as most of us probably would have. The questions still remains of what he plans to do with that power; will he use it to help his people or will he stay in his lane, so to speak, and do what is expected of him by the GOP power brokers. They’re starting to withhold party contributions in objection to Steele’s recent comments and it looks like he’s not worth the trouble for them. I think he was smart to have the book on deck; perhaps he saw the writing on the wall much earlier on or even when he was elected?

Dear Roalnd

I have always voted Democratic but this Administration and the actions of Congress will changed my mind with the Democratics. I have always like Michael Steele and his comments regarding what needs to be done in this country, but I agree with you and some of your guest that their needs to be programs or initiatives that help socially disadvantage and underserved, because poor is poor regardless of what gender or race you are.

This Administration is helping Banks, AIG, GMAC, GM, and other greedy corporations and he expects them to help us the underserved. Not going to happen! That’s why my vote and others in 2010 will change the landscape and wake-up this country, but the problems are still going to exist because all the Republicans and Democratics are for hirer with Corporate America.

Corporate America is always going to win over the people that vote, and until the people change their habits with voting for these people that lie to us all the time including President Obama our nation of underserved and socially disadvantage will starve.
