MediaCurves.com just conducted a study with 1050 viewers of President Obama’s State of the Union address. Results found that favorability for the President’s plans for health care, the economy, and foreign policy increased among all political parties after viewing President Obama’s State of the Union Address. In addition, the percentage of respondents who indicated that they would vote for Barack Obama if he ran for a second term increased among all parties. More in-depth results can be seen at:

Thanks,
Ben

I think he did a good job. And I hope that people were listening to him. I know that there people who don’t like him but I hope they listen.

PRESIDENT OBAMA WAS GREAT!!!!! HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!!!!!

Obama is tough. He knows what he is up against. We would vote for him again in next election. He is what this country needs. That is why the World has honored him. The World leaders are aware of the genius status of Obama.
We expect for there to be HATERS.

The BLACK MAN has to take his rightful place. We are the royalty and giftedness of the past – We must reclaim our present and future.

Obama will give us the courage and inspiration to succeed against the ODDS.

He has gotten a lot of us…”Back in the sattle”…..so to speak with him….if he does not look to be keeping his word…again….he will help to kill the spirit that fire! that we had and are trying to keep for him and his turn at the top….

God Bless him we love him out here and wish him well…

He must…”Bum Rush”….what he wants threw…or else he’ll lose the base…front center and some right….

@ JMD….

I second you on that!…smile….and agree 110%!…..

President Obama, eloquently address The State of our union. I’m glad he touched on:

-The Growth of our Economy.
-To create more jobs.
-Financial reform.
-American innovation.
-Global Market/ export and import trade.
-Skills and Education need to be
improve. Quality education that will
revitalize our community colleges.
-Stimulus money to improve our
educational system.
-Health Insurance reform.

I mostly, enjoyed how he addressed this issue on investing in education for their children. For us to emphasize more time promoting and rewarding success in our young instead of failure. I really wish that “Sean Puffy” was tuned in on this.

Thank you, TV one for covering the watch on Washington. We need more topics like this for the year 2010. This will motivate us to make a difference in our world.

I liked what Obama said last night. I just hope he can get it done. just asking Congress to play nice does not seem to be the type of carrot and stick that will work these days. I like how he called out the Supreme court for allowing uncapped contributions to election campaigns. That is the type of back bone this President needs. The same way he called out all those generals in attendance for the end of “Don’t ask, Don’t Tell”. I think that is just the low hanging fruit type of win the President needs. You are the Commander in Chief, make it so.

I do wish he will stop talking about how he inherited a mess. It yours now Obama, time to start cleaning it up. Well, it is our mess, bush is long gone.

Also I must say the Republican response cracked me up. This clown from Virginia talked about Obama’s rhetoric. Gov. McDonnell your whole speech was rhetoric. No solutions what so ever. Just a bunch of what you disagree with what Obama said. Well there was one solution, “Old McDonnell” offered. He thinks we can fix health care by simply letting people buy across health insurance stateliness. Not only is that stupid, but I heard that in the last republican response.

Obama being elected says something good about our country. But his State of the Union address was just a campaign speech modelled on those of Bill Clinton – a.k.a. Slick. Something for everybody and all to be obtained without any pain. In fact, we’ll get everything and a tax cut, too!

Slick turned out to be all about keeping himself in the Oval Office. When he abruptly changed course on his health care plan, he left his troops in Congress out to dry. Obama just dumped the blame on them and walked away.

And of course the poorest Americans remain invisible to him. No mention at all of the Congressional Black Caucus’s letter of Dec. 9, 2009, which called for earmarking funds for job creation and training for the poorest “American citizens.”

I feel that President Obama did a great job in his State of the Union Address last night, and reaffirmed his commitment to the American people. He stepped into a big pile of s!!!! when he came into office, and has had much opposition not only from Republicans, but his own party, which is sad. I was very disappointed to learn that certain members of the CBC have consistently worked against him, yet they expect him to support their request for their proposed legislation on job creation and training. The President is well aware of the need for job creation and bringing back jobs, and by no means takes it likely. I wish he would “drop the hammer” on all those who oppose him against issues that we all know are good for the American people by using his executive power. He needs to let the “Party of No”, know that they are no longer in power! I never saw all this opposition when “W” (George Bush) was leading us down this path of destruction! The congress and senate just went along with everything he wanted to do like “passive little puppies” and challenged nothing. This is part of what got us into this nightmare that we’re living today! Thank God for a woman like Barbara Lee who had the heart to stand up to this beast and say “No” to an unjust, illegal war. Thank God for a man like Senator Robert Byrd who stood up and said “No” I will not vote to invade a sovereign nation! As the President stated, he is fully aware of the issues that he ran on during his campaign, and he never said he could do it all by himself! Those who supported him stood and cheered him as we basked in the feel good moment. But now that we’re in the trenches, and the battle is waging, so many want to jump ship! This effort for change is not for the faint of heart! To effect real change and get away from business is usual, is going to be a battle like we have never seen, but we can win! The old guard is not going down without a fight! But, go down they must to create a brighter day for our children. The Universe is crying out for justice! It is time! Will the real soldiers stand up with this great President, human being and support him as we wage this battle for change? Do the American people have the heart?

President Obama speech was outstanding last night. That is why I voted for him. He is doing a great job. It is time to start speaking and telling the truth and the president did it last night. I have never been so involved and inspired about politics in my life.

I completely agree, Alexis Cooper. It’s time that the president proceed with the course of actions he feels are best, without attempting to appease his opponents. The republicans will NEVER cooperate with him because they don’t want to contribute toward his success. They will spend the next three years nitpicking, fault-finding and mud-slinging in an attempt to detour him from his goals. Before it’s over, they will have convinced his weakest supporters that the blue skies are red, and President Obama is to blame for it.

The democrats who are fighting him will soon find that they’ve only cut off their own noses to spite their faces.

I understand that for people who are unemployed and actively seeking employment without success, the wait for “change” must feel as hopeless as their stacks of bills and empty bank accounts. However, the people who still have their jobs and are relatively healthy, can afford to be more patient. The problem is that many people haven’t appreciated the magnitude of the problems the president is facing, and expected that change would be instantaneous. Others seem to have believed that change would be delivered to their doorsteps, customized to meet their particular needs.

As I watched his address last night, and considered all of the issues he’s expected to resolve, from monumental to
minute, I thought: I couldn’t do it. I would not be able to handle the stress of that job. This is why we elect people whom we believe can do a better job with complex problems than we can. It takes a unique intellect and person who can maintain an even temperament in the midst of a storm. Our president is cool-headed and thinks through things. Thinking is a process which requires time. We need a thinker to get the country out of the variety of complicated messes it’s in. We don’t want him to just do something, anything. We want him to get it right.

President Obama will redistribute the wealth of this country equally and fair to the socially and economically deprived. It has been one sided for to long.

President Obama ,as expected, did a wonderful job. I like the fact that he did address the supreme court and other republicans because they needed to be told that they weren’t right. I also like that he addressed the issue of this not being a time for ‘my team is better than your team’,becuase this country can’t move forward with people nit-picking and not working together. Having said that, he did inspire hope for the future.

There are enough people trying to bring him down but we must SUPPORT HIM TO THE FULLEST! Remember we only get a glimpse of what he is dealing with, so imagine if we really knew what all he and his family were battling. No other president has had to fight politics AND race before. I would like to know what Mr. Bush said in the letter he left for President Obama’s first day in office.

First of all let me thank TvOne for giving up a spot to post about Rhianna, JayZ or Beyonce to talk about some REAL NEWS.

I think Obama’s speech was on point. It has been a rough first year but I hope he can effect some change. Although, I am not sure about the suspending of government spending. I do think we need to do something to fix the national debt. I also like the fact that he is posting online all lobbyist who visit the White House. It is the government of the people, so we should know where our leaders interest lay.

I hope that the Republicans can work together with our President. I would like to see a live on TV sit down chat between Obama and Republican elected leadership to discuss where they can work together to help this nation. I mean be you a Democrat or a Republican we all want better schools, less crime maybe there is a place to start.

I think the PRESIDENT did a real good job making it clear that he’s a man trying too help the voiceless!my take is he’s throwing the okie dolk and seeing who’s on he’s side and who’s the enemy n turn coat!democrats and republicans tones are change’n and politics n snowballing americans days or over!change you can believe in!change is happen and real brotha’s and sista’s are seeing it play out live in living color!hiding behind robo points ain’t going too fly in november!watch how they will nut’up in there run too get back to washington!

Action speaks louder than WORDS. The proof is not in the rhetoric, it is in the outcome.

It’s not just a democrat vs republican situation anymore you all. The new game in politics now is let me walk-talk-sound like a democrat…long enough to get votes…but once in office…I will go against President Obama’s agenda just like the Republican party. If that’s not the game then why didn’t we get Healthcare completed last year?

I think President Obama di a great job with his speech and focused on issues that I could relate to.

Focusing on education, repaying loans and not going broke just to recieve a good education, jobs and the importance of higher education.

He has been President for one year and I hear him say more than Bush said in 8.

Rome was not built in a year, companies are not built in a year, a CEO of a company can not even rebuild a structure within a company in a year.

Please America give him a chance he does not have magic powers even though he would make a great super-hero..

Thanks for listening,
From Tasha in VA

“We don’t want him to just do something, anything. We want him to get it right.”

If this sentiment is true, why did he not get the health care bill right. He and the democrats want a bill. According to Nancy Pelosi, “we will have a bill, no matter what, some how.” And the president went along with this statement. This doesn’t sound like wanting to “get it right.”

The HCB imploded. the democrats have the votes in the HOR to past it (simple mahority) and the Senate had the 60 votes to pass it.

They didn’t need a single republican vote. The blame is squarely at the feet of the democrats.

Obama and the far left of the party pinned the success of this presidency on universal health care with a public option. There were deadlines to have the bill passed into law. They wanted more than anything else for the president to trumpet the HC bill passage in his SOTU. As we all now know, it did not happen.

GW Bush after 9/11 pinned the success of his presidency on protecting the country from another attack. He succeeded. He might have created other issues in the process but his goal was achieved.

Our new president from the outset wanted to prove to the Clintons that he has what it takes to do something that they couldn’t do. This was not merely have a HC bill passed into law, it was to say to Bill and Hillary, “anything you can do, I can do it better.”

Like her or not, Hillary would be a better president than Barack. She is very resolved in her conviction unlike Obama who follow the wind whereever it blows.

Public Option — no public action
Medicare buy in — no medicare buy in
Bring troops home — escalate the war
Close Gitmo by January — Gitmo still opened
Try 9/11 terrorist in NY — Looking for someplace else.

All these after the public outcry. He has no conviction. This is not the leader we elected to replace GWB.

I think he should call out the congressmen who voted against his plan and ask them to explain why they doing the ribbon cuttings on the very projecs they voting against on tv. Expose the hyprocisy!!And tell the Dem congress either they on the boat or expose them too so we can vote people in that hols our interest in view. Nomore shady deals. Show all meetings on tv,because we dont know whats really going on behind close doors

Marie, I know you love to focus on my statements as your points of contention, but in answer to your question about why no progress has been made with healthcare, I’ll refer you to my first and second paragraphs, beginning with the third sentence of paragraph one.

And, Marie, when are you republicans going to start offering some solutions instead of only scathing criticisms? You guys had two opportunities to get it right, but you didn’t either. There’s a saying: those who can’t do, sit on their butts and criticize those who can. Never heard that one before? I just said it.

I’ve already answered my own question: NEVER.

Rance is definitely seeing the big picture! I wish President Obama would just say F* em all, This is how it’s going to be so deal with it. But he is too distinguished for that, however, I do expect our Leaders in the Senate and Congress stand tall and support him. Who has offered a better idea??? NO ONE!!! I’ll bet everyone who is opposing President Obama will be the first ones to line up for the new benefits that come from his administration starting with party changing Senator Joe Lieberman.

In the last administration, it was the democrats whose MO was to oppose, oppose. This is understandable, since THE OPPOSITION’S role in POLITICS is to focus on the policies that they deem harmful to the nation.

Democrats were not complaining when their elected leaders were opposing the past administration’s policies. Now that the “shoe is on the other foot,” republicans are the deemed the enemy of nation building.

The only policy I can recall that the democrats supported during the 8 years of the Bush Administration was the WAR. And, when it became unpopular, they all say it was a MISTAKE.

Rance, The burden of proof is on the DEMOCRATS (THE PROSECUTOR}. They are the “GOVERNMENT.” In this great nation, we choose our government through the ballot boxes.

It our responsibility as republicans (the opposition} to criticize the policies of government that are harmful to the majority of citizens of this country.

Who heads the various committees in Congress? The Democrats. They set the agenda. Can you imagine a Republican bill (the minority party} passed by the congress and signed by the president? Why all those secret meeting among democrats, away from the camera? Why were republicans shut out in those secret meeting with the president?

Prove WHAT? Please elaborate on the “Burden of Proof”.

And Marie, the answer is the same. It wouldn’t matter if the president personally called each of them and invited their input, the republicans DON’T WANT to work with this president. They are NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING TO HELP him.

We’ve already established that democrats who should support him are at fault in this too, so I don’t see why you continue to argue about a point on which we….grrrr…(sigh) agree.

Wakeup, the President is doing a great job, considering what he has inherited. People stay the course, we had 8 years of dishonesty, and we are allowing that issue to be swept under the rug and focus on this administration as the problem. We have become so blind that we call right/wrong and wrong/right, we always crying for honesty and when someone step up and tell it like it is we then say well that not what I want. Stop letting the the republican and some democrat say no joke telling , but tell the joke, sit back and laugh but don’t let you see them laugh. Stop being fooled and by deceitful people, our president is make a effort to invest in the country and people not just in himself.

Marie everyone had to go along with Bush’s war plans whether we thought it was a good idea or not, because it was presented to us as a way to keep the country safe. The problem now is that the citizens of America want and need more attention given to the domestic problems that were ignored during the Bush years, and now we have a President who actually gives a damn and everyone is sending out an S.O.S!

P.S. Bush spent every dime President Clinton left in the treasury (he spent it overseas), so President Obama now has to figure out how to pay for the bills on the domestic agenda. Healthcare, Education, Military ,Energy, Economy, etc. I am glad these things are at the top of Pres Obama’s list of priorities. Is it so bad to want a safe America, with healthy, educated, employable-productive citizens? That should be the common ground for all parties Dems Repubs Indep & Green.

Roland, although I am not African American, I find much on TVOne that resonates with me such as your show. When I voted for President Obama I was overwhelmed by tears because it was the first time I have voted and had a real choice. Many commentators are saying that the President may not have a second term because progressives are disillusioned. But, who else would there be to vote for who’s somehow more progressive?

For me the State of the Union address was very positive. I do sense, however, that the President has skirted the issue of a program for African Americans in order to avoid accusations of favoritism.

The poor have been totally ignored by this new administration. I am tired of hearing about the “taxpayer” and the “consumer.” Those who pay no taxes because they have little or no income never got a bonus “rebate” check nor did they get help buying a car so they might look for work in places where there is no public transportation. Why should I buy stuff to keep Macy’s happy? They charge too much anyway.

Well, we got more health care for children. But generally the parents need healthcare too to raise successful children. Don’t get me started on the foster care system. Thank you so much for your show!

Test questions for being poor:

Is my poverty a direct result of the bad choice(s)I made? (example dropping out of school, having children I couldn’t afford, illicit activities etc)

If the answer is yes, What am I going to do to correct the situation?

People who do not pay taxes are drain on society. Why should taxpayers paid the poor to get a car and “rebate.”

What does the term “rebate” implies? You have to pay something to be entitled for a rebate. When was the last time someone forced me to shop at Macy’s?

Personally, I believe every child up to age 18 and those in college should have health care subsided by the government if their parents cannot. But, don;t tell me that a unemployed young man with a baby mother on every streets, should be entitled to free health care?

On the issue of race, I agree with you. This president, the first “black” has done nothing and has proposed no tangible policies to bridge the economic gap between blacks and other races in this country.

What do you want from the man? One minute he’s labeled a racist who hates white people, the next minute he’s guilty of ignoring blacks. Last month he was socialist who was trying to spread the wealth around, now he’s accused of doing nothing for the poor. Please make up your minds!

If he can concentrate on the big issues that are affecting everyone, blacks will benefit. I believe he was trying to put programs in place that would have been directly beneficial to blacks when he attempted to bring Van Jones on board to tap his expertise in green energy. But you guys were so busy calling the guy a ‘communist czar criminal’, that there was no chance to find out what might have come from that association.

We want him to be the leader we thought we elected. Not the Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid Push Around!!!

THE UPSET IN MASSACHUSETTS FINALLY EVOKED A LITTLE COMMON SENSE INTO THE PRESIDENT. HIS STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS WAS CONDESCENDING AND THE SAME OLD SONG. HE REALLY NEEDS REV. JEREMIAH WRIGHT TO HELP HIM FIND HIS WAY OUT OF THIS FISCAL NIGHTMARE. THE PRESIDENTS APPROVAL RATINGS DID NOT RECEIVE A BOUNCE FROM HIS ADDRESS ! ARROGANCE IS NOT A QUALITY THAT THE PRESIDENT OF THE US SHOULD POSSESS ! I HOPE THAT HE ENJOYS HIS LAME DUCK TERM!

I loved how Obama went to the Belly of the Best and laid the smack down on the GOP. Obama on Friday was invited by the Republican to a dinner and Q & A session where “Our President” laid the smack down. That’s what a how we do it.

Quote
“You’ve given yourselves very little room to work in a bipartisan fashion because what you’ve been telling your constituents is, this guy is doing all kinds of crazy stuff that’s going to destroy America,”

“A lot of you have gone to appear at ribbon-cuttings for the same projects that you voted against,” Obama needled, using last year’s $787 billion stimulus package to land a stinging blow.

Let’s get real. The Party of No has NO solutions. The president atleast is trying to fix what is wrong.

“what you’ve been telling your constituents is, this guy is doing all kinds of crazy stuff that’s going to destroy America,”

The truth hurts. Ooch!!!!

Really?!! You voted for him, Marie? How did you manage to cast your vote for a man you detest so much? What brought about your 180 degree turn in such a short time?

I guess you might say, it doesn’t take long for me to see the folly in people.

“A man you detest so much?” There is a difference between “detesting” one’s policies and “detesting” the person.

You of all person should know that.

He promised us change in the way he would governed but as far as I am concerned it is politics as usual. If you have been following my recent comments you would noticed that I have pointed over and over that Obama real problem in governing is the far lefts in the democratic party.

He promised to lead from the center but is being dragged to the far left. Didn’t the president promised to lead from the center and was dragged to the far right?
So, where is the change? To use a common cliche, the buck stopped with the president.

If Obama can’t lead his own party, how can he connvince the rest of us that he is worthy of our support?

Marie, the thing is, his policies have NOT changed. He is saying the same things he was saying on the campaign trail.

With regard to “leading from the far left”, it only appears that way because of the absense of voluntary cooperation from the conservatives, both republican and democrat. At some point, he’s going to have to move forward without them, and I hope it will be soon because they’re only holding up progress.

@marie
Bingo. What you have stated is the main (not the only) reason why Dems lost in Massachusetts(and other places). I’m not sure if you realize this, but your opinion mirrors that of independents.

The left and right are going to do what they do, justify, rationalize or apologize, and the other will obstruct.

“If Obama can’t lead his own party”. –Exactly! Who is the President? Obama, Reid or Pelosi, sometimes I wonder.
Regarding the spending freeze, before one Republican uttered one word, before the budget was released, Pelosi was publicly in has azz.

The truth is people are not getting what they thought they would. Its not personal. Many in the middle of the political spectrum agree with you, and that’s were elections are won and lost.

All the speeches in the world will not change the outcome of his Presidency if he doesn’t shift to the middle. Clinton was smart enough to do it, we will see if this President is.

@Rance
“At some point, he’s going to have to move forward without them, and I hope it will be soon because they’re only holding up progress.”

–What! They couldn’t even move forward, when they had the largest majority in HISTORY. Regarding health care all the obstruction came from within. Funny how they were able to pass other legislation without Republican support.

–he’s going to have to move forward without them.

What does filibuster mean to you?

Hey guys politics aside for a second.

many of us, know of people who may have lost, or walked away from their homes. If so we need to inform them of “deficiency judgments”.

Basically, after you walk away or in the case of foreclosure, if the sale of your home is less then the value of it, then the homeowner can be on the hook for the difference. Further they can wait until your financially stable to come after you.

This the kind of critical information, that doesn’t get passed along until its to late.

We can differ on politics, but what must help each other when we can.

I am an Obama supporter, not a follower. To a follower he can do no wrong and most followers do not have a clue about what is happening, or hasn’t happened, since he took office. Any critique to them is a criticism. To them it is good enough that a black man got elected. The truth is, he could use a little more backbone and should have NEVER started off with compromising healthcare. I had a lot of hope when he took office, but now I realize he is simply better fit to be a peace loving, community organizing, blog host for another democratic candidate after his first and last four years. NO, I will definately not be voting for him again. He is making Hillary look real good too late!

too all those who are turn coates and one foot in and have one foot out!your fake followers of change!those who crack at first sign of trouble!this is like when slavery was over people didn’t believe it wasn’t going too change!that’s why it took 150year later to get justice!people nut up and put there tails between there legs with no shame!the 1year segregationist awakening!people have only made the enemy stronger by playing there game!the politics of today is fear and forgetfulness!change has happened that’s why you feel the okie dolk and not change!if you stop hate n you will see all the fake democrats and bigeted obitunist republicans!they throw stones and hide there hands!those who don’t believe in the president in this century has hate and no common sense!there hasn’t been a leader too give too the people like this president!check your history!too give too americans is not socialism!those who say these things are racist and big bussiness cheer leaders!the scale has always i repeat, always has tipped too white america!when balance is showed and the light shined on the thieves and wicked, then it’s socialism!these are the same people that don’t believe that the black and red nation should get reparations!so, too all those that jump ship on the president eat a dictation!!!!!obama til 2016!!!!!

also, too my inner-city leaders!how can you watch the winter games without seeing segregation and judgement!there’s no programs too give our kids a chance too ski or play in those winter games!1 brotha on the speed skating team!they made there past time a medal sport!x-games have x out young inner city kids out of all winter sports!audit your city and county halls and see how there cherry picking for there kids and not all american kids!!!

blackhornet72,

Explain two parts of “healthcare.”

Marie, S. Reid, K20 and Rik, I can only applaud your statements. I see some of the same people , in favor of Obama, asking the same questions I thought I answered for them months ago. But, I guess that’s how it goes.

Obama is a scam plain and simple. He hasn’t worked on the economy at all. If someone believes he has then please tell us what exactly he has done and how effective was it? We need jobs now. That is simple. Instead, he tried to ram HC down our throats hoping to have leverage against those who went against his wishes whether they be corporations or the citizens of this country. In fact, putting you in jail because you don’t take HC is a prime example of what I am talking about. He wants a Gestapo state plain and simple. This comes from his Socialist background. Most Communist and Socialist we know of ruled with an iron fist. This is something Obama has tried. Intimidation, threats, and false promises have been used by this imposter at every turn. Its time for black people to wake up and get in the game. For those of you who believe in this guy I wonder how. He is long on lies and short on truth. His last speech was not one for a nation but one for himself. Yeah it sounded good but that just means he operates a mean teleprompter.

One of the hidden issues in that last Supreme Court ruling (5-4) was that the Supreme court struck down the Fairness Doctrine. That was why Obama was so upset with the ruling. The Fairness Doctrine was not at the forefront of the issue but it was included. The Supreme court basically voted not in favor of censorship which is what every good Socialist needs to rule his subjects. Maybe next time Obama. This is America.

President Obama has try to listen to both side Dems and Reps, but when you have people who are set out to just go against everything you want to do, no matter if it good or bad. You have to at sometime just do what you know is right. It was a need for someone who think like him. Now that he is in office he should do what he came to do. Let them criticize, because when it works, no one will listen to them anymore. If you wait for critic to change their minds nothing will get done and they can sit back and say I told you so.

@S.Reid
You made a very clear and important distinction between followers and supporters.

I also agree that S. Reid’s comment was precisely on target (except for the Hillary part). The point made was what I’ve been trying to say all along. But S. Reid said it more articulately than perhaps I have.

There is a right to HONORABLE dissent! However, it is necessary to discern “honorable dissent” from mindless “zealot obstructionism” as that carried out by robotic followers of the right wing haters.

It is never good to “follow” anyone without thinking things through, and knowing all the details of what you are loyal to. On the other hand, it is very wrong, unethical, and downright mindless to utter Tea seances of obstruction, while pushing the propaganda of right wing hypocrisy. And then want to interfere in the family debate of “supporters” with that pre “object permanence” like nonsense.

Such outside interference serves only to lower the quality of our discussion, as we “supporters” try and come to common ground with “followers” in the “Family.”

To all the supporters of Obama don’t give up on him. He is trying to do more than any other President have ever tried to accomplish at one time. He was dealt a bad deck of cards and it is going to take time to fix the mess the Republicans put this country in. To all the haters out there, everything is going to turn around soon and don’t try to get on the band wagon then. President Obama have done a great job so far and I Pray he continues to do so. Who cares that people opposition are trying to cause him to fail. They are sneaky, two-faced, and have no morals. He have more with God on his side and it will be alright.

Well i tell ya what
“You and the family of supporters” first determine who the President is.

I see President Obama doing all the talking, but Pelosi and Reid providing all the leadership and making all the deals. And when they want too, they check him.

Pelosi ran her mouth about the spending freeze, and and now about the jobs bill. Is she the President or what! What does the Family think about that? Reid put him in check over some stupid Las Vegas comment. These folks ARE DEMOCRATS!!!!!

Id take along hard look at my own party of obstructionist, before Id go calling out the other party. Republicans find themselves in a powerful position, because your party blew it. That’s just the truth.

Further, the other side (K20 and Larry and others) have more than adequately challenged you and others. It would be nice if your side could counter Larry and k20, with something other than the same ole tired party line race rhetoric.

By the way has does the family feel about Blanche Lincoln and Ben Nelson. Both Democrats who voted with the “Obstructionists” to block the NLRB appointee.

My guess is the “family” didn’t even know it. My guess is the “family” has nothing to say, because these folks are democrats. These same two Democrats who helped hold up heath care.

Yeah, quick to point the finger across the street, yet can’t even get your own house in order.

Certainly we can expect both sides to hold up appointments (Shelby should be ashamed), i don’t like it, but BOTH SIDES do it. But what does it say, when you cant even get your own to support you.

Welcome to 2010. It gonna be long year for “the family”

Thanks Rik. You took the words right out of my mouth. I have been bellowing for months now about this Socialist individual in the WH and no one has bothered to challenge me on the facts except to say that I am some right wing, racist tea party person. Yet they don’t touch the Socialist examples and facts that I give.

In regard to this NLRB guy I just heard about him today. Of course, he being an Obama appointee he leans more toward unions when we need someone who is more middle of the road. His support of card check, as I assume with you, does not sit well with me and others.

For those of you above who support this imposter please wake up. He is not in your corner. I can name plenty of examples to support my argument but I will talk about only one to make it simple. Our economy needs jobs. We have record foreclosures and unemployment. Yet Obama, for the last year, has concentrated on health care and not the economy. Now since you know this, and since your common sense tells you he should have been working on the economy why do you support him? He is more concerned with his agenda than the welfare of the people. I see that as pretty obvious. Why don’t you?

I’m not with either party I vote for the individual. Now I want to talk about jobs, President Obama is doing what he can to make jobs. Some say it’s working some say it’s not, but he is doing something about. Can someone tell me what Bush did when people lose their jobs in 2008?

@jusme
To my knowledge (and I might be wrong), I don’t think he did anything. I recall lots of talk about war and terrorism. When he left office the unemployment rate was 7.2% and climbing.

explain two parts of healthcare?the senate with baucus sold out the public option and the house version with the public option with kick backs to the insurance companies!healthcare has a lot of loop holes such as:pre existing health, cherry picking the healthy, exams that are needed for men and women, you can go on and on about common sense things that universal healthcare would provide without the cherry picking!

also, what are you trying to say hommie?i don’t know my politicz!healthcare is like a rubix cube, there’s many arguments and the specifics that will always be argued just because there pro-life or pro choice!!so,talk to those who don’t work and have kids!i worked for the government and there healthcare is the best in america!fight for the same for all people cuz the private bussiness sector want give it to you!peace and good health!!!!!!!!!!

remember jordan first couple of years in chicago!he would score 50 point games and they still lost.people in chicago wanted to run jordan out of town!look what happened when they didn’t pre-jackulate!we are in history mode and those who are across the street need to help or move to what ever country they can do better in!history in our generation has not produced a president for the people by the people until now!bushes, clinton,or reagan didn’t help poor americans and the country itself!we need a president to heal our beat up country in all areas for all americans not for the few!!!!!!!!!!

Jusme,

I think we have to also understand that the full affect of the downturn had not been realized. Real jobs started falling in 9-08. In fact the economy was spiraling fast. Just a few months before Bush was to get out of office. The way I remember it foreclosures were the big problem during the last few months of Bush. Correct me if I am wrong. That’s when we saw Lehman Bros., Bears Stearns and AIG take massive hits. Of course, we knew the markets were being hit before that but none of us really knew how bad it really was including Bush.

Now after we stabalized the markets with Bush’s emergency stimulus the picture became clearer and clearer as to where the economy really stood. Here comes Obama campaigning on the economy and how he is the man for the job. Little did we know that he actually would pay very little attention to the economy. Raising taxes and increasing government spending will not increase jobs. That’s easy Economics there. That’s what Obama has done. Maybe the questions should be what is Obama doing to create jobs since he is now the President and in charge of getting us back on track. I am not saying Obama should have had the answer but he should at least try and fix the problem.

But maybe to answer your question: Bush in 2003 and in 2005 with some assistance tried to reign in Fannie and Freddie because he knew that their method of operation was not sound. He met stiff resistance from Dems. Now Bush could have forced the issue and probably should have. But that was one of his weaknesses: acting like a Liberal. people were making money and times were good and getting better. Not a whole lot of people predicted this downturn. I was even invested in the subprime market myself so I should have recognized the massive downturn the rest of the mortgage and banking industry was going to take. In 2-07 and 10-07 is when we really saw the last of the subprime folks go down. Yet the banks and so on were still in pretty good shape. Once subprime companies hit the skids that was the time to take your money out of the market. I missed that opportunity because I just didn’t realize how big this problem was. Even if Bush realized how big the problem was what could he do? The market had to correct itself. No one could stop that. Too many companies and financial institutions had too many bad loans on the books.

Larry are you kidding me, who are we that stabalized the market with Bush’s stimulus. If the market was stable when Bush left then he forgot to send out the memo, and I don’t know about you but more taxes were taking out my check when Bush was in office. Maybe you’re one of the wealthy that Bush gave tax cut to.

Jusme,

Your memory fails you. When Bush was in office, his last days, the economy, was failing badly. The Dow lost close to 1400 points in 2 days. His emergency stimulus stopped the bleeding. Now, if you don’t recall that then maybe I would suggest a little research on your part.

Your comment about him doing whatever he can to create jobs is absolutely baffling especially when he has spent almost a year on nothing but health care. Please also share with us what he has done to create jobs.

How come it is that black folks are the only ones who had more taxes taken out when Bush was in office? Obama is doing twice the spending Bush did. Hold on you will see whatever taxes that you have now go up considerably. Even you should anticipate this with the spending Obama is doing. You really can’t make a solid defense of his presidency as he has done absolutely nothing for the economy. Now for the show stopper: if you think he has then please share with us.

OK Let see blacks are not the only one who had more taxes taking out when Bush was in office, I know alot of white people who say the same thing. About the jobs when you drive down the highway and see them fixing the roads, there you go some of the jobs. And with the economy do you watch the market, well if you don’t it went up since Bush, report say more people are shopping. So please stop giving the same old lies I hear everyday from Fox News and their followers, thank you.

Sorry Jusme you are still ill informed. Those jobs on the road never stopped. And if that’s your answer to solving the unemployment problem then we are in for a sorry time. And I haven’t heard 1 white person say that at all. Plus Obama has raised taxes, corporate taxes and the capital gains taxes. So how is someone seeing less taxing out of Obama?

About the market, its correcting itself. It has nothing to do with Obama. Everyone knows that the market has a life of its own. Again I ask you , name something specific that Obama did to upgrade the economy? And did it work?

Let me fill you in: employers are scared to hire because they are unsure as to what this imposter is going to do. Cap and trade and health care are two massive spending bills. Employers dare not spend any cash in fear of these monsterous bills. We are still in a ressession. How can they plan for the future when tons of taxes are looming for them and us? Does this make sense to you? No matter what you say this is what the reality is. You do agree that Cap and trade and health care will cost trillions of dollars right? And again you know who will pay for that right? If you answered the way you should have then how can you support this President?

Obama is trying to redistribute the wealth. No honest, knowledgeable President would increase taxes and govt. spending during a ressession of this nature. It makes no sense. Even you would have to agree that the spending is outrageous. Unless again you fall back on the Fox network excuse the number 1 news channel in the country. So much so ABC has had to scale back their reporting efforts and MSNBC and CNN are getting lapped. The numbers don’t lie. Just people. If you watch Fox news then you aren’t paying attention.

Larry I watch all news, some of what reported is lies and some is true. But if it’s not fact and seem to have hate behind I don’t like to listen. As for the jobs I know that won’t fix the problem, but it work people can get until they can get a better job or career. Employer are not hiring because they would rather get as much work out one person as they can, so they will make more profit. As for what white people or black people are saying I’m not going to get into with you, because it seem like either your black and mad that your black, or white and don’t like black people. What ever it you have work on that yourself and maybe you’ll stop blaming everything on black people(including President Obama). Also did you ever think that the white you’re around think like you that why you haven’t heard them say that.(just a thought, but what do I know since I’m so ill informed).

Jusme,

C’mon now. Employers aren’t hiring because they are unsure about the future not to mention we are in a rescession. How can you deny this? In fact this whole downturn was caused by the subprime mortgage crisis. We have yet to recover. So to say employers aren’t hiring because they want to squeeze blood out of a turnip is not realistic to say the least totaly untrue. People make money by investing and expanding not by overworking their employees.

I am black and probably blacker than you in many other ways. I would not tread there if I were you. Just because I believe blacks should be plugged into mainstream does not make me white. Fact of the matter is most blacks aren’t plugged into the mainstream. I’ll give an example. When Obama says he wants to increase capital gains taxes we should be upset. That means when we sell our house or sell our stock the govt. gets more of our profit in the form of a tax. We don’t bat an eye when Obama says stuff like this. We just nod and grin and cheer him on. We obviously don’t care that he wants to tax us more. Some black folks are so mesmorized with the color of his skin they just don’t care what he says. We must get plugged in if we want to change our lives.

That’s what I want from black folks. Many black folks like yourself seem to want the status quo.

Let’s do this. I watch Fox all the time. Why don’t you watch Beck O’reilly or Hannity and then tell us what lies were told. Just one will do. I would love to hear the lie and get a chance to review it. This should be easy for you since you say the lies exist.

Larry I did not say you were not black, if you are black something happen to you that make you displease with other black people. But blacker then me, what make someone blacker or whiter than someone else, those are statement that racist use. Whoever you are around that is brain washing you please get away from them. And about the lies that the news channels tell, no more advertisement. As for being mesmerized by President Obama skin color is crazy, I see people with his skin color everyday. Beside that I did not vote for him because he’s black I voted for him because he care about everyone getting health care and educated. People who are against him because he’s black seem to think that the people who voted for him, did so because he’s black

Jusme,

I think the fact remains here that I have challenged you on the facts. To say that people did not vote for Obama because they wanted to see a black President is not being honest. Some folks thought he was a better candidate others thought it would be cool to have a black man in the white house. What I am saying is that I see more blacks not putting the facts together in order to make excuses for this guy in the white house.

I am not against him because he is black. I am against him because his policies are bad for America, therefore bad for my lifestyle. I don’t want government run health care. Government runs very inefficiently.

When you are ready to discuss actual facts and reasons why you are an Obama fan please let me know.

Larry, when are opinions facts? You don’t like his policies, bad for America, who says, you. When did you become the say all for America. Also stop putting word into my mouth, I said I did not vote for him because he is black. Maybe someone one voted because he was black, maybe someone didn’t vote for him because he was black, that discussion can go both ways. Larry this will always be about opinions not facts, get real. No one person can ever say what everyone wants or thinks. That’s why some polls say one thing and the out come is different. What bother me is that the people who are against President Obama choose health care to go the hardest against him on. Could it be that they know this will be the best they for this country, and they don’t want a black man to be recognize for it. You say you don’t want government run helth care, like the health insurance industry cares about you. They don’t care who you are, if your not beneficial to them they will drop you with ease, no matter how much you already paid to there company, you can put that as a fact, has happen to so many people. I have insurance my premium and copay go up every year, and I worry if I get sick and really need my insurance will they drop me too. I don’t know how good you have Larry, but it must be ALOT better than most people, if that’s the case then good for you, but human part of you has to empathize with other who don’t have it as good as you do.
