BOBBY SPEAKS OUT AFTER WHITNEY INTERVIEW

THE FACTS
Bobby Brown was interviewed by The Insider to address some of the issues raised by his ex-wife, Whitney Houston, in her interview with Oprah.

THE SPIN
With Whitney Houston revealing that Bobby Brown spat in her face after having one too many drinks, if you already had a poor impression of the Kang of R&B, chances are Nippy made it even worse.

However, Bobby has since given a sit down interview in response to his ex-wife’s sit down interview.

Speaking with The Insider Bobby discussed a number of issues associated with his tumultuous marriage to Whitney Houston.

On accusations that he corrupted Whitney:
“I think we corrupted each other. I don’t think she hurt me or I hurt her in any way. I just think we had a 14-year marriage that had its ups and downs, and not many people understood it.”

On how often he and Whitney used drugs:
“I used an awful lot and can’t take that back.”

On his drug of choice:
“Cocaine, it’s a powerful drug.”

On what prompted his drug use:
“I just think I was bored. I had just gotten married, and things [weren’t] right. Unfortunately, I turned to alcohol and drugs.”

On the night he first met Whitney:
“That’s one of the things I try to forget.”

On whether or not seeing Whitney on Oprah makes him nervous:
“Why? If there’s something that she says that is untrue or disrespectful then I’ll deal with that with her.”

WILL WHITNEY MAKE IT BACK ON TOP?

THE FACTS
Whitney Houston’s new album is released today.

THE SPIN
This hasn’t been the decade for Whitney Houston.

The 00’s kicked off with Whitney mysteriously bailing on a planned performance at the Academy Awards. Though she cited a soar throat as the culprit, rumors sparked that she showed up acting the fool at rehearsal.

Of course, we all remember her infamous “crack is wack” comment in her interview with Diane Sawyer.

Then there’s the Being Bobby Brown reality series. Sure, most people got their laughs in, but then people thought about it – this isn’t the Whitney we’ve come to love.

This is Nippy Newport – an erratic woman who’s not doing anything close to what made her famous.

That’s why you don’t remember the Just Whitney album or her holiday collection, One Wish: The Christmas Album.

It’s why you purposely ignore her showing at Michael Jackson’s 30th anniversary special looking like a disco skeletor.

Despite her hardships, she’s officially back with her new album, I Look To You. Trying to mix styles old and new Whitney goes back to longtime collaborations like Diana Warren and David Foster in addition to new ones like Akon, Alicia Keys, and R. Kelly.

The reviews are pouring in and most of them are positive. But many ignore one big fact: She can’t sing the way she used to. Still, she’s back so the question is: “Will you be supporting her new effort?

BOBBY BROWN’S BABY BOY

THE FACTS
TMZ reports that Bobby Brown announced the birth of his son in Las Vegas.

THE SPIN
Of all the places Bobby Brown could announce the birth of his child of course he would pick the club.

While doing a gig in Vegas, The Kang of R&B revealed this manager/girlfriend Alicia Etheridge gave birth to their son, Cassius, last week.

Congrats to couple on the birth of their song. And unlike Michael Jackson, I imagine when we see Cassius and Bobby together our reactions won’t be that something in the milk ain’t clean.

YOUR SPIN: Wish Bobby the best! Tell us here.
