ACTOR CALLS DENZEL WASHINGTON ‘CRUEL’

THE FACTS
Bronson Pinchot described his experiences working with Denzel Washington in a recent interview.

THE SPIN
Bronson Pinchot, known for his roles as Balki on the sitcom Perfect Strangers and work with Eddie Murphy in Beverly Hills Cop movies, has spoken out against one of America’s most beloved actors.

Pinchot gave a lengthy interview to the AV Club in which he discussed his experiences working with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

On working with Denzel Washington in Courage Under Fire, Pinchot said:

“Denzel Washington was behind the incredibly cowardly bullshit of “This is my character, not me.” He was really abusive to me and everybody on that movie, and his official explanation was that his character didn’t like me, but it was a dreadful experience. I spent my salary on time with my shrink just for helping me get through it… The script supervisor on that movie said it’s like watching somebody kick a puppy. He was so vile.”

He also branded Tom Cruise as “homophobic” (insert snarky comment here) and Bette Midler as a “b-tch.”

How many of you are currently thinking, “You know, I hated Perfect Strangers anyway?”

MARLON WAYANS TO STAR AS RICHARD PRYOR

THE FACTS
Entertainment Weekly reports that Marlon Wayans is set to star in the Richard Pryor biopic.

THE SPIN
I’ve always felt bad for Marlon Wayans.  No need to remind me that he’s so much richer than me right now and clearly doesn’t need my pity. Yeah, I got it. Thanks. No, I’ve felt bad for him because he’s a trained actor who has yet to be offered a role in a mainstream film that highlights his credibility as a dramatic actor. Those of you who’ve seen his role in the indie flick, Requiem for a Dream, can understand what I’m saying.

Hopefully, Marlon’s chance to tell Pryor’s story on the big screen will be the much needed big break that’s long overdue.

EW.com reports:

“Funny man Marlon Wayans is in advanced discussions to play one of comedy’s most iconic figures in the biopic Richard Pryor: Is it Something I Said for Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Prods. and Sony Pictures. The project has been written and will be directed by Bill Condon (Dreamgirls). Eddie Murphy was originally attached to star in the project, but he dropped out over conflicts with Paramount Pictures, which was previously on board to finance the film.

While Wayans is primarily known for his comedic roles in Wayans Bros.’ movies such as Dance Flick and White Chicks, he received critical acclaim for his dramatic turn in 1999’s Requiem for a Dream. Sources tell EW.com that Wayans fought for the role, blowing the producers away with a 13- min screen test where he “transforms into Pryor.” The movie depicts Pryor’s controversial brand of comedy and his battle with drugs and is currently budgeted at $20 million.  Chris Rock, Pryor’s widow Jennifer Lee Pryor and Mark Gordon are also lined up to produce. Producers are still working out the terms of Wayans’ deal, and other major aspects of the overall project have not been finalized.  Sony did not respond to requests for comment.”

I know some of you would have preferred Mike Epps, but uhh, Mike seems to have been running into some problems as of late. Besides I really think Marlon can pull this off.

Do you?

MEET EDDIE’S BABY GIRL

THE FACTS
Pictures of Eddie Murphy’s daughter with Scary Spice have surfaced.

THE SPIN
Meet Angel Murphy. This is the daughter of Eddie Murphy – you know the one Scary Spice says Eddie has yet to formally meet.

The one he initially denied and was proven to be the father of in Maury Povich style.

Well, the family obviously pulled out their digital cameras recently, only Eddie seemed to miss the shoot.

As you can see, Melanie Brown’s husband, Stephen Belafonte, is filling in the role of daddy dearest for Princess Akeem.

I suppose since I’m not privy to the intricate details of Melanie’s relationship with Eddie, I can’t rule out that there’s some factor that may keep him away from his daughter.

Still, it’s his child, and now this pretty little girl is being photographed with another man who’s seemingly filling the void left by him.

That can’t be good PR.

YOUR SPIN: Should Eddie Murphy make a public meeting with his daughter?
