THE JACKSONS: AN AMERICAN DYNASTY COMING TO A&E

THE FACTS
A new reality show featuring the remaining members of the Jackson 5 is set to premire on A&E.

THE SPIN

Outside of Michael, Janet, Rebbie (If I said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times – don’t sleep on Centipede), and maybe LaToya on a good day, I’ve never cared to know what the other Jacksons were doing.

And obviously neither did A&E initially. That is, until Michael died and the network thought, “Wait, what happened to that Jackson reality show pitch we got?”

In light of the King of Pop’s death, his brothers and ex-band mates were giving the green light to move forward with their own reality show project. The show originally was intended to document the brothers as they prep for a Jackson 5 reunion – you know, the one Michael kept denying he was taking part in.

Now the show will chronicle the brothers as they deal with the death of Michael and plan on reuniting for music – that you probably don’t want to hear without Michael singing lead.

Maybe the show will be good because it would be nice for the other brothers (sans Jermaine, who stays in the press) to get a little airtime and discuss how they feel about Mike’s passing.

But, if they were smart, they’d let Rebbie bust out a random performance of Centipede in the Jackson family living room.

CHRIS BROWN READY TO RETURN TO STAGE

THE FACTS
Billboard.com reports that Chris Brown will headline NY radio station Power 105.1’s Powerhouse concert.

THE SPIN
Chris Brown was initially scheduled to take part in Jermaine Jackson’s tribute concert to Michael Jackson in Vienna. But considering Jermaine may be the only person at the venue that night, needless to say Team Brown took their client off the performer’s list.

Chris now has another official performance date – October 27th.

Breezy will be headlining a show featuring Fabolous, Keri Hilson, Trey Songz, The-Dream, Marion, Day 26, and Ginuwine.

Judging from his choreography in Ester Dean’s “Drop It Low” video, Chris obviously still has it. The question isn’t whether or not he can dance; it’s are you willing to pay to see him do it?

How many of you look forward to a Chris Brown tour?

Likewise, how many of you are waiting to stand outside of whatever venue Chris is booked to perform in your city and ready to side eye any woman who takes her daughter to see him perform?

YOUR SPIN: Does he sound like he’s under a contract where he can’t talk?  Tell us here.

KATHERINE JACKSON CAN CHALLENGE WILL

THE FACTS
A judge has ruled that Michael Jackson’s mother can challenge the men currently administering her son’s estate without losing her substantial stake.

THE SPIN
Katherine Jackson no longer has to fear losing her 40% stake in Michael Jackson’s estate if she dares to challenge whether or not the current controllers of her son’s empire are fit to run her son’s business affairs.

In his 2002 will, Michael specifically exercised a no compete clause – barring his mom from challenging attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain as to whether or not they’re best suited to handle his estate.

Thus far, Branca and McClain have generated tens of millions in revenue for the debt-ridden estate. Katherine hasn’t questioned much of their business dealings sans a deal with AEG live for a memorabilia exhibit featuring possessions from her son’s Neverland Ranch.

A judge overruled Katherine and allowed the exhibit to move forward.

Since I’m not privy to the inner workings of the Jackson estate, although I’m not going to assume Katherine is in the wrong I will say there’s only one known Jackson that’s good with money and it’s baby of the family. Keep Jermaine away, Kat.

Meanwhile, it was also revealed that Grandma is receiving more than $26,000 per month from her son’s estate, as well as another $60,000 per month to care for her three grandchildren.

The money is being used to pay for a variety of living expenses and for staff to take care of the children.

YOUR SPIN: Is that enough money for Kat?  Tell us here.
