LIL’ CEASE SHOOTS BACK AT LIL’ KIM

THE FACTS
In a new interview, Lil’ Cease denounces claims that he snitched on Lil’ Kim.

THE SPIN
Recently I heard Lil’ Kim say that she never wants to talk to Lil’ Cease again. People have long blamed Cease for the reason Lil’ Kim went to jail. He has been branded a snitch since then and Kim has played the role of martyr.

However, Cease says that’s not the case. In a new interview the former J.U.N.I.O.R. Mafia member claimed that he never gave any incriminating evidence away. He claims all he did was recount what had happened the night of the Hot 97 shooting that led to Kim going to jail for perjury.

He noted that it was Kim who went in and lied in defense of people who had already came clean about the events that transpired.

As for Kim still pretending to be Biggie’s fake widow, Cease called it disrespectful not to mention unrealistic. He said just because the two had a sexual relationship didn’t mean she was his girl.

He pointed out that Faith Evans and then Charlie Baltimore were the only women Biggie claimed.

VOLETTA WALLACE TO LIL’ KIM: ‘GET A LIFE’

THE FACTS
Voletta Wallace responded to Lil’ Kim’s criticism of the Biggie biopic, Notorious, in an interview with Hip Hop Weekly.

THE SPIN
Finally someone has told Lil’ Kim what most people with common sense have been thinking: Move on.

Here’s what Mama Biggie said about Lil’ Kim’s grips with the film: “Tell Lil Kim to go find herself, go drink a cup of green tea and get a life! This movie is not about Lil Kim.  She felt we used her character to promote (the project, but) this movie is about my son… Lil’ Kim needs to go sit down.”

Actually, she should lay down. For a good while. Don’t get up until you realize you are not the widow and even if you were, it was about a decade ago.

Voletta also said she was “disgusted” by Lil’ Kim branding herself a “white woman in a Black woman’s body.” I wonder if Michael Jackson ever felt that way.

Anyway, Voletta added: “She felt the character we chose for her was too dark. Do you know why the character was too dark for her? Because she’s a white woman trapped in a black woman’s body, and you can tell the world I said it, because those are Lil’ Kim’s words. She should be ashamed of herself.”

Word.

RUN DMC BIOPIC ON THE WAY

THE FACTS
Hip hop blog Woooha reports that a Run DMC biopic is in the works.

THE SPIN
In ten years everyone and their mama will have a biopic, won’t they? And when I say everyone and their mama I mean it – don’t be surprised to see the life and times of Janice Combs and Tina Knowles.

Now that Biggie’s biographical film has been made, and similar project on the life of Aaliyah is in the works, it seems everyone with a tale is trying to tell it. Now we can look forward to the story of Run DMC hitting the big screen.

Cheo Hodari Coker, who penned the screenplay for Notorious has been tapped to write the story of Run DMC.

The film will be produced by Dallas Jackson. Jackson is currently working on the remake of The Last Dragon with The RZA and Samuel L. Jackson.

It’s not that the Run DMC story isn’t worth telling. I believe it is. My only thing is how many biopics does the world need? It will probably be a good movie, but I hope Hollywood’s biopic fever doesn’t come at the expense of fictional stories featuring Black faces.

YOUR SPIN: Who else should get a biopic?  Tell us here.
