NAOMI CAMPBELL IS WANTED BY THE POLICE

THE FACTS
Cops are searching for Naomi Campbell following her assaulting her limo driver in Midtown New York Tuesday afternoon.

THE SPIN
She’s been all around the world and earned millions of dollars as an international supermodel. But for all of her achievements Naomi Campbell still acts like that silly girl who carries a blade underneath her tongue.

How many times has she been accused of smacking someone upside the head with her Blackberry? Wasn’t she sentenced to anger management a couple of times? Didn’t she say she would learn to control her temper?

Way to prove the naysayers wrong, Nay Nay.

The model has been accused of slapping and slugging her 27-year-old limo driver before fleeing the car and getting the hell out of dodge.

A police source told the New York Daily News:

“There has been a criminal complaint made out against her. She’s obviously aware of it. She will either turn herself in or we’ll go out and get her like anybody else.”

Naomi Campbell’s spokesman, Jeff Raymond, warned the press not to fall for a “rush to judgment.”

Raymond added: “Naomi will cooperate voluntarily, and there is more to the story than meets the eye.”
For her sake, I hope so.

But, if there story is as bad as it seems, is it time for Naomi to do some real jail time?

ANITA BAKER AVOIDS JAIL TIME

THE FACTS
The R&B singer faced going to jail after she refused to sign documentation related to her divorce settlement.

THE SPIN
On Friday morning Anita Baker was facing jail time after she refused to sign documents as it related to how her royalties are split with ex-husband, Walter Bridgeforth. Bridgeforth was awarded half of her royalties in a divorce settlement reached in 2007.

Last Wednesday Baker was ordered to sign documents to empower court-appointed music contract expert Howard Hertz to seek information from the record companies on the amount owed to Bridgforth.

That deadline passed and Baker refused to sign the papers again on Thursday. As a result, Judge Lita Masini Popke ordered Baker back in court with the instrument to sign the documents or be jailed.

Baker complained about being “muzzled.”

She also told the judge that she hadn’t read let alone signed the documents because she had been crying for two days straight. She also noted that it was the label’s fault, not hers that Bridgeforth had not been paid any royalties.

However, it seems Anita has reached an agreement with her ex-husband’s attorney to create a process that eventually will decide how much Walter Bridgforth is owed in music royalties as part of the couple’s divorce settlement.

The AP quotes Baker saying:

“I’m so happy. … I have never been in such a position before. And we don’t intend to ever be in such a position ever again. I just wanna go home, and I’m happy to go home. … As horrific as it could have been, it was lovely to feel supported, though, on the other end.”

No disrespect to her ex-husband, but unless he wrote a song or had some hand in its production why is he entitled to any of Anita’s royalties?

WILL NAS GO TO JAIL?

THE FACTS
Nas is facing jail time after a contempt motion was filed against him in his bitter legal battle with ex-wife, Kelis.

THE SPIN
Somewhere Kelis and her attorney are singing: “Shawty, say what’s your price, just to back it up you can hold my ice.”

I’m sure one of them Diddy-bopped for good measure.

That’s because Kelis’ attorney claims Nas owes more than $200,000 in child support and alimony in addition to attorney’s fees.

Kelis’ legal shakedown specialist filed a contempt motion earlier because her client’s ex-husband refuses to pay up.

When he appeared in court, though, Nas pled not guilty. If convicted in a contempt hearing next month, he faces jail time.

More recently, Nas included the line in a new track with Damian Marley that went:

“How in the hell am I supposed to stay comfy/ When I pay child support, alimony monthly….”

If I were ordered to pay more than $51,000 a month, I’d probably say worse.
