Dr. Conrad Murray Charged with Michael Jackson Death

THE FACTS
• Michael Jackson’s physician has officially been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

THE SPIN
In “sucks to be you” news, it’s official: Conrad Murray has been formally charged in relation to the death of Michael Jackson.

Dr. Conrad Murray will officially be charged with involuntary manslaughter. If convicted, Dr. Murray faces a maximum of four years in prison.

He should also be sentenced to a beat down by Tito and Mama Kat, but I guess we can’t get what we want.

TMZ reports that according to the criminal complaint, the District Attorney alleges Dr. Murray “did unlawfully, and without malice, kill Michael Joseph Jackson … in the commission of an unlawful act, not a felony; and in the commission of a lawful act which might have produced death, in an unlawful manner, and without due caution and circumspection.”

Dr. Murray is expected to turn himself in around 1:00 p.m. PST and will be arraigned 30 minutes later. He will plead not guilty and will be accompanied by his legal team and a bail bondsman. Bail should be set at $25,000.

I feel about as sorry for him as any fool playing in traffic.

IS DR. CONRAD MURRAY TURNING HIMSELF IN?

THE FACTS
A rep for Michael Jackson’s physician has now confirmed that he will be turning himself into authorities to face charges.

THE SPIN
Dr. Conrad Murray’s rep made the following state via their site:

“We are presently negotiating with the District Attorneys’ office the surrender of Dr. Murray,” Ed Chernoff said in a statement posted Thursday on his Web site. “The specifics have not yet been agreed to and when the agreement is complete we will report further on this Web site.”

Charges have yet to be filed as the investigation is still pending. Look, I don’t care when this guy turns himself in as long as he does. No doctor with any respect for the creed he took as a medical professional would have doped Michael up the way he did.

He deserves to be in a cell with “Man in the Mirror” on constant repeat. Or locked in a room with Joe Jackson and Tito. Whatever makes him suffer the most.

JOE JACKSON WANTS TO FILE WRONGFUL DEATH SUIT

THE FACTS
Michael Jackson’s father is mulling the idea of filing a wrongful death suit.

THE SPIN
Where is Angela Bassett to yell, “LET IT GO JOE!” when you need her?

Since it’s pretty clear that Michael Jackson’s estate is not about to show Joe where those dollars at (shout out to Gangsta Boo – that song never gets old) he’s looking for a new way to get some cash.

Does it involve a job independent of anything related to his son?

Hell no. You can’t teach an old dog new tricks, especially if he’s used to being a flea.

So what’s Joe about to do?

TMZ reports that he’s trying to force UCLA to hand over all of his son’s medical records in order to file a wrongful death suit.

According to legal documents filed on Friday, Joe claims:

“The UCLA records will permit [Joe] to determine with medical experts and then present to this court, how much support [Joe] needs to pay for the prosecution of his wrongful death action against those responsible for his son’s death.”

Joe believes the medical records will show what really happened to Michael, and that will help Joe determine how much he’d be able to collect from those responsible for Michael’s death.

However, Howard Weitzman, a lawyer for Michael Jackson’s estate explained to TMZ:

“The estate continues to believe Joe Jackson’s claims are not well taken and he should not have access to Michael’s medical records.”

Translation: Go to bed, Joe!
