Gary Coleman Dead at 42

There’s an update on the Gary Coleman story, and unfortunately, the ending is a sad one.

TMZ has confirmed that the child star has died as a result of injuries he suffered earlier this week.

On May 26 he was admitted to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah for the head injury he suffered at his home. He was announced to be in critical condition. By the next day he was unconscious and on life support.

The hospital told TMZ that Coleman died at 12:05 p.m. MST. He is said to have died of intracranial hemorrhage.

Earlier this morning, Coleman was placed on life support. It was Gary’s wife, Shannon, who decided to take her husband off life support.

Family members and close friends were at his side when his life support was full.

Coleman was 42.

Fans of the Diff’rent Strokes star know that Coleman’s story is one of constant conflict.

In 1989 he sued his parents and former manager over mishandling his $3.8 million trust fun. Although he won a $1,280,000 million judgment in 1993 by the close of the decade he would file for bankruptcy.

Despite being the driving force of Diff’rent Strokes, Coleman struggled to find acting roles following the end of the series.

That anger over financial and professionals struggles would later result in a myriad of legal problems for Coleman – including arrests for assault and domestic violence, along with citations on disorderly conduct.

Despite his contentious relationship with his wife, it seemed the two were happier in recent months.

Hopefully now he can finally rest in peace.

MOTHER DENIES ACCUSING RIHANNA OF STUNT

THE FACTS
The mother of Jasmina Anema has distanced herself from a Twitter post questioning Rihanna’s motives in befriending her child.

THE SPIN
The story of Jasmina Anema became a national phenomenon once Rihanna used her celebrity to help lead a bone marrow drive for the 6-year-old who bravely battled leukemia.

Yet sadly, Jasmina died in January and over the weekend her appropriately frustrated mother took to Twitter to vent. Unfortunately, that vent was directed Rihanna’s way.

Thea Anema tweeted:  “It has been a month since Jasmina’s passing. Still not even a card or text message from Rihanna. Did she use my child for a publicity stunt?”

The note has since been deleted, but was retweeted by several users.

On Monday, Thea posted the following: “Apparently there are some negative blogs out there. For the record, Rihanna has been nothing but really nice!!!”

With respect to Thea it wasn’t “negative bloggers” who put that message out there.

In an email to PEOPLE, Thea explained that while there are no hard feelings she does remain somewhat disappointed.

She said:

“Friends have helped me with all kinds of stuff and many know the passwords to my personal e-mail, the Caringbridge site and also Twitter. Although I did not Tweet this particular one, I do wish that Rihanna had responded to me on Jasmina’s passing. It would have meant the world to me.”

Jasmina adored her. Rihanna was so kind to come and visit her. I just felt hurt not hearing anything from her. Or of any other celebrities for that matter. The only ones who reached out to me personally during this time of grief were the Obamas.”

A source close to Rihanna defended the singer:

“She really loved this little girl. It was hard for her to deal with a child passing away, especially a little girl she had come to care for so much.”

JERMAINE JACKSON’S THOUGHTS ON MJ’S DEATH

THE FACTS
In a recent radio interview Jermaine Jackson shared a theory about the death of his brother.

THE SPIN

As I watch this video my eyes shift to the side.

Jermaine Jackson gave this interview to an Australian radio station and revealed his belief that Dr. Conrad Murray didn’t act alone. So who’s responsible? Oil spill head wouldn’t say. All Jermaine would say is that Michael always felt “they” were trying to get him and that the “truth” would reveal itself in due time.

Gee, thanks, Jermaine. That really helps settle that.

I hate when people throw out random conspiracy theories and are super vague when you ask them to elaborate. Unless you’re dropping names keep this to you and the cashier at Kim’s Beauty Supply, JJ.
