SHOULD SHAQ APOLOGIZE?
I’m beginning to think this is the drama that won’t end until everyone on the face of the Earth gives their take on it. Only days after video surfaced of Shaquille O’Neal publicly mocking his ex-teammate Kobe Bryant via freestyle (What ya’ll know about Shaq Diesel’s flow?), everyone from Nas to Snoop Dogg has chimed in. Now, Shaq is feeling the heat from outside the world of celebrity.
Maricopa County Sherriff Joe Arpaoi, who made Shaq a special deputy in January and promoted him to colonel of his ceremonial group earlier this month, wants Shaq to hand back the special deputy’s badge he awarded him because of the language he used to mock Kobe. Speaking with the Associated Press, Arpai said, "I want his two badges back, because if any one of my deputies did something like this, they’re fired. I don’t condone this type of racial conduct."
Arpaio describes himself as "America’s Toughest Sheriff” — best known for feeding jail inmates green bologna, clothing them in pink underwear, and making them work on chain gangs. While he told the AP that he didn’t expect his reprimand to teach Shaq a lesson, he hopes Sherriff Shaq learns that he needs to be a better role model should he ever become a full-time Sherriff.
I can’t wait to find out the teacher who congratulated him on his great behavior in kindergarten has to say on this matter.
YOU TELL US: Should Shaq apologize or at least let this beef go? Tell us here.
