JANET JACKSON HOSPITALIZED

THE FACTS
A rep for Janet Jackson confirms the singer has been hospitalized.

THE SPIN
According to the BBC, Janet’s publicists says the 42-year-old pop star had to cancel her Montreal show after she “got suddenly ill” during sound check.

Janet is being monitored at an unnamed hospital but no further details of her condition have been released. The BBC reports that the singer hopes to reschedule the concert. Last Friday, Janet had to cancel the weekend date of her “Rock Witchu” tour in Detroit due to “production constraints.”

We wish her a speedy recovery.

KANYE WEST’S AUNT SPEAKS OUT ON DEATH OF HIS MOTHER

THE FACTS
Yolanda West claims Kanye was reluctant for his mother to have the surgical operation that ultimately killed her.

THE SPIN
I’m surprised it took this long for the family members to start speaking to the press. Speaking with a British tabloid, Yolanda West says Kanye’s mother, Donda, went for a tummy tuck as a quick fix to dieting.

She says: “There were some moments when she dieted, some moments when she’d lose the weight, but you know how we do, we pick that weight back up and she finally got to a point where she just wanted to get it done and completely be done with the dieting. It was a quick fix for her to where the dieting just wasn’t working. Did Kanye want it done? No. But he’s a mama’s boy and what mom wanted was what he wanted to make sure she had. And now he’s got no mom.”

Your Spin: Should Yolanda be telling family business or will her words help those seek more information about plastic surgery before they go under the knife? Tell us here.

PRINCE MIGHT STOP BY YOUR DOOR

THE FACTS
Prince spoke with USA Today about going door-to-door as a Jehovah’s Witness to spread his faith.

THE SPIN
OK, it’s Saturday morning, you’re sleeping until noon…or at least you think you are until it’s about 8:30 a.m. and your doorbell rings. You peep through your blinds first to see who it is. You notice a bunch of people standing outside your door and you think, “Damn.”

Well, don’t be like that next time because there might be some little man in purple standing outside, and though he might not break out into Little Red Corvette, you could at least say you’ve met one of the most talented elves in musical history.

But by chance if you do open the door, try not to piss Prince off. Prince told USA Today about his experiences going door-to-door to spread the word about his Jehovah’s Witness faith.

Prince said: “Sometimes fans freak out. It might be a shock to see me, but that’s no reason for people to act crazy, and it doesn’t give them license to chase me down the street.”

No, but at least they didn’t start singing Irresistible B-tch the moment they see you.

Disclaimer: No offense to Jehovah’s Witness readers. I give it up to ya’ll for waking up that early, but not everyone is too keen on hearing the doorbell or looking at anyone’s face that early on a Saturday. I’m just saying.

Your Spin: Would you answer the door if it were Prince?  Tell us here.
