BRYANT GUMBEL’S SON NEEDS AA

THE FACTS
TMZ reports that Bryant Gumbel’s 29-year-old son was arrested for an alleged DUI last week.

THE SPIN
Last weekend, New York State Troopers noticed Bradley Gumbel’s 2005 Toyota 4-Runner swerving on the highway. When they approached the car, they say young Gumbel was asleep and smelled like liquor. According to police, his blood level was more than twice the legal limit for DUI.

Cops also say the front passenger side of the car was banged up and Gumbel couldn’t explain how the damage occurred. That’s because he was drunk, po-po. Anyway, Little Gumbel shouldn’t have been driving anyway – his license was suspended.

Bryant: Come get your child.

MICHAEL VICK MAY BE GETTING OUT

THE FACTS
TMZ reports that Michael Vick may be released from prison and sent to a halfway house thanks to a plea deal.

THE SPIN
TMZ says Scooby Doo’s arch-nemesis is set to plead guilty to dogfighting charges and that may lead to him being sent to a halfway house. Droopy’s foe has already settled on a plea deal to settle state dog-fighting charges by accepting a three-year suspended prison sentence and a $2,500 fine. He’s in Virginia now to enter that plea. If things pan out, Deputy Dog’s worst nightmare may be sent to a halfway house.

Although pitting King and Tank against each other in a steel cage match for profit is morally wrong, am I the only one that thinks it shouldn’t have led to Michael Vick losing everything? Granted, he deserved to be punished, but with war criminals in the administration, white collar criminals strutting down Wall Street, and sexual predators singing their way up the charts without fear of incarceration, why is a dog killer the biggest trophy of celebrity justice?

R. KELLY NEPHEW CHARGED

THE FACTS
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that R. Kelly’s nephew has been charged for his involvement in a barber shop robbery.

THE SPIN
The nephew of R. Kelly is being held on $200,000 bail after being accused of sticking up a barber shop.

The [alleged] criminal, 16-year-old Brayel Kelly was getting his hair cut at Marvelous Cuts Barber Shop in Chicago on November 6 when he pulled out a gun and demanded cash and jewelry. The shop owner complied, then pulled out his own gun. Kelly fired and the owner shot back – leading to Kelly getting shot in the back. Clearly, intelligence runs in this Kelly Klan.

R. Kelly’s nephew has been charged as an adult with attempted armed robbery, attempted murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm. I would say maybe his uncle could help him with legal fees, but if the boy has to rob a barbershop shop of all places for money, I gather they’re not too close.

I’m still trying to figure out what fool robs a barber shop.
