QUINCY JONES ON MICHAEL JACKSON
THE FACTS
In an interview with the Associated Press Quincy Jones discusses his sadness over Michael Jackson’s career.
THE SPIN
Quincy Jones has an autobiography entitled The Complete Quincy Jones out in stores. Now when you’re known as the part of the mastermind behind the biggest album in history, it’s only natural for folks to ask what you think of the star behind it now that he’s about as relevant to contemporary music as a .45 single.
Quincy Jones said he’s “sad” over the turn Michael Jackson’s career has taken. He’s hoping the King of Pop can still make a comeback after he comes “to grips with a lot of things in himself.”
Quincy also revealed that he’s not blind and actually did talk to Michael about what he’s done to his face. He says Michael “Used to apologize” to him about it all the time. However, he didn’t feel he could pressure Jackson to stop turning himself into that resembles a deceased White woman because “that’s a very personal decision.”
I bet he wishes he said something now.
