QUINCY JONES ON MICHAEL JACKSON

THE FACTS
In an interview with the Associated Press Quincy Jones discusses his sadness over Michael Jackson’s career.

THE SPIN
Quincy Jones has an autobiography entitled The Complete Quincy Jones out in stores. Now when you’re known as the part of the mastermind behind the biggest album in history, it’s only natural for folks to ask what you think of the star behind it now that he’s about as relevant to contemporary music as a .45 single.

Quincy Jones said he’s “sad” over the turn Michael Jackson’s career has taken. He’s hoping the King of Pop can still make a comeback after he comes “to grips with a lot of things in himself.”

Quincy also revealed that he’s not blind and actually did talk to Michael about what he’s done to his face. He says Michael “Used to apologize” to him about it all the time. However, he didn’t feel he could pressure Jackson to stop turning himself into that resembles a deceased White woman because “that’s a very personal decision.”

I bet he wishes he said something now.

IS MICHAEL JACKSON SICK?

THE FACTS
New York Times bestselling biographer Ian Halperin tells In Touch magazine that Michael Jackson is suffering from a rare lung position.

THE SPIN
According to Ian Halperin, Michael Jackson needs a lung transplant. He told In Touch that Michael has been diagnosed with Alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency, an occasionally fatal genetic condition.

He said: “He’s had it for years but it’s gotten worse. He needs a lung transplant but may be too weak to go through with it.

Halperin adds that Michael also has emphysema and chronic gastrointestinal bleeding. The bleeding is so bad “It could kill him,” claims Halperin.

Jackson’s publicist has not addressed these accusations head on. Neither has Jermaine, who told Fox News: “He’s not doing so well right now. This isn’t a good time.”

Best wishes to Jackson and his health.

OPRAH ON D.C. HOUSE HUNT

THE FACTS
The New York Post claims Oprah Winfrey is looking for a home in D.C. to be closer to Barack Obama.

THE SPIN
Claiming “she wants to be as close to Barack Obama as possible,” supposed “insiders” say Oprah has started a preliminary search for a home in Washington, DC.

If you recall it only took a matter of days for gossipers to imply that Oprah and Michelle Obama hated each other. I guess now we’re supposed to believe it’s because Oprah’s trying to upgrade from Stedman. Is this the best the tabloids can come up with? Oprah Winfrey trying to get into Barack Obama’s draws? Seriously? Either come up with more clever lies or dead the story now.
