Images of Faizon Love and Kali Hawk were removed from a promotion poster for the Vince Vaughn comedy, Couples Retreat.
THE SPIN
In “ya’ll say it’s not racist, but it sure sounds like it to me” news, marketers removed the images of Faizon Love and Kali Hawk from the promotional poster of the film Couples Retreat for the U.K. market.
A spokesperson for Universal responded to criticism about the altered poster saying the posters were altered “to simplify the poster to actors who are most [recognizable] in international markets.”
I’m sure it had nothing to do with the belief by some in Hollywood that Black actors aren’t marketable outside of the U.S.
Although the international film market is very much racist, altering the actors out of the posters is essentially caving in and enabling racists across the pond.
However, since the criticism has spread online Universal issued a statement regretting any offense it caused, and the studio has scrapped all plans to use the modified poster in other overseas markets.

Is this a trick question?
Are we surprised? I mean really. This kind of stuff does not surprise me anymore. Look at the lack of diversity on Television and in Movies today. It’s like we’ve stepped back into old Hollywood. For the most part minorities still play supporting roles, with the exception of a few shows. Even then I’ve notice how if a show is centered on say a black family, the supporting Caucasian actors are always portrayed as being stupid, or not “down” with Blacks. Is that right? No. That’s fighting fire with fire and that doesn’t work. I don’t know why people think Racism will go away simply because time passes. Evil will never go away until Christ returns.
who cares if they are left out. they are still getting paid some serious money to play in the movie.

Racism will go on because it is allowed. As its been said again and again we are our worst enemies. Are we getting paid or getting paid off. If we only learn to stick together like the europeans. When the polish pope was selected, the polish jokes all but disappeared. when Obama became president the black folks told every stupid and ignorant joke they could repeat. Why should someone respect you more than you respect yourself. Shame on us. Getting paid, while our people are getting dead.
We have just as much love for ourselves as any other race.We stick together when it is necessary. If we didn’t we wouldn’t have gotten as far as we did through slavery,and segregation even to the white house. We even made away for others to get there too. They could lie about us all they want to saying we lazy,and show negative images of us,all they want to, but we are great people and prosperous. We need to stop listening to satan lies and deceits.
I really wish that we Black/African Americans stop saying that black people don’t stick together. We rock this nation and get everything moving when its time to fight against wickedness in high authority. We have come a long, long way. From Genesis to Revelations.
