DON’T ALWAYS ASK ABOUT BEYONCE

THE FACTS:
• In an interview with Bossip, LeToya Luckett touched on constantly being asked questions about Beyonce.

THE SPIN:
LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson were booted out of Destiny’s Child at the start of the decade. Yet here we are on the cusp of entering another and LeToya is still barraged with questions about Beyonce.

Nevermind that LeToya has scored a platinum debut on her own, or that over the years over 10 albums have been released between various members of DC. People still want to bug her about Bey.

When asked how she deals with it, LeToya told Bossip:

“I think the thing about that is people are going to always associate me with that, it’s a thing from my past and it’s nothing that I’ll ever get frustrated about because that’s where people know me from. Me, Bey and Matthew, we haven’t seen each other in a while, besides the last BET Awards before that I hadn’t seen her in years. People would like to surround that with conflict and negativity but it’s not about that. She’s gone on with her career and I’ve gone on with mine. We don’t see each other and square up or nothing like that.”

I really like LeToya. She is a class act. She could catch an attitude with interviewers, but instead smiles, answers the questions, and pulls the conversation back to the here and now.

Still, folks should lay off the Beyonce questions or at the very least, ask Beyonce if she’s been blasting Regret lately.

YOUR SPIN: Would you be mad if you were Letoya?

IS BEYONCE PLANNING FOR A DUET?

THE FACTS
Beyonce plans to collaborate with Adele.

THE SPIN
I remember Beyoncé being asked in an interview who would she choose between British singers Estelle and Adele. At first she said “that’s so hard,” but then quickly responded with Adele.

As dope as Estelle is, I can understand why Beyonce went with Adele. Her voice is amazing, and if you’re not up on her, look up her rendition of Etta James’ “Fool That I Am.”

It’s superb, and with Amy Winehouse continuing to look like a failed D.A.R.E. project Adele may be the closet thing to blue eyed soul left.

And apparently, Adele’s profile may be boosted even more with a potential collaboration with Beyonce.

According to The Sun, Queen Bey is planning to hook up with the talented vocalist.

A source said: “Beyoncé loves Adele’s voice and her music, and Adele is really excited – she grew up listening to Destiny’s Child and they are still her favorite group. It’s her dream to record with Beyoncé.”

Can’t wait!

YOUR SPIN: Who else would you like to see collaborate? I wouldn’t mind Bobby Brown and Amy Winehouse hooking up.  Tell us here.

T-BOZ IS NOT HATING ON BEYONCE

THE FACTS
T-Boz has denied recent accusations that she’s jealous of Beyonce.

THE SPIN
There were some people suggesting that T-Boz was salty at Beyonce because “Touch Myself” never took off. I knew that wasn’t true because T-Boz has routinely showed her support for Beyonce over and over again.

But, I’ll let T-Boz clear the air in her own words. Here’s what my favorite member of TLC told Essence.com:

ESSENCE.COM: Well, there’s been a lot of talk in the blogosphere that you were jealous of Beyoncé after making comments about Columbia Records dropping Kelly Rowland.

T-BOZ: (Laughs.) First of all, if I’m going to be jealous of anyone I’m going to be jealous of my damn self because I can’t even do TLC again because that was a phenomenal once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I can never get back. For the record, I’m not jealous of Beyoncé. I like her and Destiny’s Child, because if folks remember, TLC went on tour with them for two months when they were just starting. The blogs like to twist things and make something out of nothing. I was simply expressing my thoughts on girl groups in general and that my personal choice would never be to put myself in a situation where I’m in a group that is managed by one of the group member’s parents. I think that Mathew and Tina have done a great job, so it’s no diss to them or not taking away anything from what they’ve accomplished. I just know what would not work for me, because, at the end of the day, if a manager has a personal relationship with someone in the group they are managing, they are always going to have that person’s interest first and foremost and that’s all I was expressing.

And for the record, the remix to “Touch Myself” was hot. That and “Wanna Take Me Back.” Ya’ll were sleeping on T-Boz’s solo records.
