JANET JACKSON: ‘I BLAME MICHALE’S DOCTOR’

THE FACTS
Excerpts from Janet Jackson’s interview with ABC News have been released.

THE SPIN
While the rest of the Jacksons dance around the question, Janet flat out says she blames Dr. Conrad Murray for the death of Michael Jackson.

In tonight’s interview with ABC’s Robin Roberts, Damita Jo says this about Dr. Murray: “He was the one that was administering. I think he is responsible.”

And she also recalls how she found out about her brother Michael dying:

“I was at my house in New York. You know, another day. Another morning. And I get a call…[my assistant] said, ‘Your brother’s been taken to the hospital. It’s on CNN right now.’ I called everyone…I spoke to Mother. I spoke to Tito. I spoke to my nephew Austin. I spoke to my sister La Toya.

I told them to call me when they got to the hospital. And I remember thinking, nobody’s calling me back, so I tried calling again, and that’s how I found out that he was no longer.”

It didn’t ring true to me. It felt like a dream. It’s still so difficult for me to believe.”

In addition to thoughts on Michael’s death, Janet was asked about a longstanding rumor about her father, Joe.

When asked if he was indeed abusive, the youngest Jackson answered:

“You have to keep in mind that I’m the baby. I think it’s old-school. And that may extrapolate into, ah, being a little abusive. Do you understand what I’m saying?”

THE JACKSONS: AN AMERICAN DYNASTY COMING TO A&E

THE FACTS
A new reality show featuring the remaining members of the Jackson 5 is set to premire on A&E.

THE SPIN

Outside of Michael, Janet, Rebbie (If I said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times – don’t sleep on Centipede), and maybe LaToya on a good day, I’ve never cared to know what the other Jacksons were doing.

And obviously neither did A&E initially. That is, until Michael died and the network thought, “Wait, what happened to that Jackson reality show pitch we got?”

In light of the King of Pop’s death, his brothers and ex-band mates were giving the green light to move forward with their own reality show project. The show originally was intended to document the brothers as they prep for a Jackson 5 reunion – you know, the one Michael kept denying he was taking part in.

Now the show will chronicle the brothers as they deal with the death of Michael and plan on reuniting for music – that you probably don’t want to hear without Michael singing lead.

Maybe the show will be good because it would be nice for the other brothers (sans Jermaine, who stays in the press) to get a little airtime and discuss how they feel about Mike’s passing.

But, if they were smart, they’d let Rebbie bust out a random performance of Centipede in the Jackson family living room.

JOE JACKSON: ‘THOSE ARE BODY DOUBLES’

THE FACTS
Joe Jackson claims body doubles have been used for Michael Jackson’s concert film.

THE SPIN
If it’s one thing I hate, it’s a spoiler. I’m sure Papa Joe means well, but if I haven’t seen a movie’s beginning yet why tell me the ending?

Daddy Jackson has accused This Is It filmmakers of “fooling” theater goers by using body doubles in the documentary about his son’s preparation for the final tour.

Via Contact News:

He [Joe Jackson] says, “This movie features body doubles, no doubt about it. I think people will tear this movie apart.”

And the Thriller star’s sister LaToya, who has said she has “no plans” to watch This Is It, is devastated by the possibility her brother’s last recorded performances are not genuine.

Her business partner Jeffre Phillips tells the News of the World, “I don’t believe most of those shots were Michael. He wasn’t well enough. I’ve seen clips where I even thought, ‘That’s not Michael’s voice.’ It’s very upsetting for LaToya.”

I’m supposed to go see this movie this morning, and now in addition to likely being distracted by hordes of people dressed like 1983, I’m going to be clocking for MJ fakes.

Thanks a lot, Joe.
