R.KELLY SUES MICHAEL JACKSON ESTATE

THE FACTS
R. Kelly has filed a creditor’s claim against the Michael Jackson estate.

THE SPIN
In you better run me my money news, R. Kelly and his label have filed a $3,000 claim against the estate of Michael Jackson.

It’s all because Michael sang and jigged to Pissy’s “Ignition” in the TV special, Michael Jackson’s Private Home Movies.

I wanted to throw shade as big as an eclipse for this as Michael was singing a song on the radio for a private movie, but then I realized this show did air on national TV so a check is due to R. Kelly.

You can see the video yourself below:

CELEBRITY TWEETS IN REVIEW

THE FACTS
A number of celebrities were spotted posting unconventional tweets over the weekend.

THE SPIN
I’m not entirely sure what got into them over the last few days, but celebrities were being as blunt as possible on their Twitter accounts to ring in the New Year.

First, we have Funkmaster Flex who verbally attacked, “video hoes,” Kimora Lee Simmons, and R. Kelly:

Then there’ s Gilbert Arenas, who used his Twitter account to dispel allegations that he and another NBA player pulled out guns in a locker room over a gambling debt.

And lastly, there was Bow Wow who made the mistake of drunk tweeting that he was drunk driving.

Way to play into the cliché of being the lost child star, Shad. I D.A.R.E. someone in his entourage to delete his Twitter profile.

Last and certainly least is Slim Thug:

He then went on to deny that the pic in question was of him actually having sex:

Some people need their computer privileges revoked.

R.KELLY WRITING AUTOBIOGRAPHY

THE FACTS
R. Kelly has signed a deal to publish his memoir.

THE SPIN
Last time I checked R. Kelly needed to use sign language to order off the menu at McDonalds so what is this about him writing a book?

In yet another glowing instance that celebrity trounces everything else, the man I still prefer to call Pissy has announced that famed biographer David Ritz will help him (by writing it all himself, no doubt) a tell-all book that will discuss his childhood, the loss of his mother (let’s all start singing “Sadie,” ya’ll), and yes the controversy surrounding his life and career.

In a statement Pissy said:

“I’m writing this book as Robert, not R. Kelly. I’m tired of being misunderstood. I will show you the tears, fears, and sweat. I will open my heart and reveal the good in my life as well as all the drama. I want to tell it like it is.”

Well, tell me about the video, the marriage to Aaliyah the then minor, and why you’re so fixated on that Pied Piper tale and maybe I’ll snatch someone’s copy to read.

If you’re wondering, “Just who would publish such a thing,” (I know I was) I’ll let the book’s publisher Tavis Smiley explain:

“Everybody has a right to tell his or her own story in their own words.  My assessment is people should reserve judgment until they have a chance to read the story.”

My assessment is even before the whole peak-a-boo camera controversy he married a minor so I think I’ve got a pretty good grasp of things. But hey, maybe he’ll surprise (or not).
