Mo’Nique has signed on to host the comedy special, Shaquille O’Neal Presents: All-Star Comedy Jam.

In yet another glowing example of Mo’Nique staying true to her word that she’s not going to let the potential of winning an Oscar alter who she is, the Academy Award nominated actress has signed host Codeblack Entertainment’s Showtime special Shaquille O’Neal Presents: All-Star Comedy Jam.

The show, which tapes Thursday, will be filmed in Dallas at AEG Live’s Nokia Theatre at Grand Prairie.
The announcement was made the day after Mo’Nique received a best supporting actress Academy Award nomination for her role as the abusive mother Mary Jones in the film, Precious.

On the show, Codeblack Entertainment CEO Jeff Clanagan said: “We’re looking to make comedy history because of the chemistry between (Mo’Nique) and Shaw and all the other talented comics in the lineup.”

The line-up includes George Wilborn, Mike Epps, Paul Mooney, Michael Blackson and Corey Holcomb.

The show will be distributed via pay per view, DVD and online. The showtime premiere will happen sometime this summer.
