NELLY PLANS ALL-MALE VERSION OF ‘THE VIEW’

Nelly is planning to develop an all-male version of The View.

Considering he hasn’t had a hit in years it makes sense for Nelly to want to venture into television. No shade, but that’s where plenty of entertainers on decline go to find newfound relevance.
So what’s Nelly means of using TV to boost his status, deerty?
Well, at one point he mentioned a variety show, which let’s be honest would probably do as bad as Rosie O’Donnell’s show last year (I bet you don’t even remember it).
He’s also pitched around some other concepts, but his most recent is a talk show themed after ABC’s The View.
Here’s what Ashanti’s ex and St. Louis’ finest had to say about his pitch:
“Not sure if you’re familiar with the Ocean’s 7 Crew. It’s me, Jermaine Dupri, Trey Songz, Johnta Austin, Brian Michael Cox and Tyrone ‘International’ Davis. We’re working on kind of like the male version of ‘The View.’
We’re working on that. You ever seen that movie called ‘The Ugly Truth?’ You know how the guy had his show; well we’re working on that. I’m starting to do more now, but I wanted to do stuff that made sense to me. I had a lot of offers and a lot of things that probably could’ve been cool, but I turned it down because I felt I wasn’t ready yet.”
Yeah, someone tried this before. It was called The Other Half with Mario Lopez, Danny Bonaduce, and some TV doctor not named Phil.
But then again, folks have made Steve Harvey the love guru so if they sold this show on the premise of men yapping about relationships and “thoughts into how men think” I bet the celebrity attachment will help. Just put it on at night. No housewife is going to watch this during the day.

It would be great to hear the Black male perspective for a change. I am tired of how Black men are portrayed in the media, especially black media.
I loved the show TvOne had “Black Men Revealed”, but I guess people could not handle real talk from real Brothas.
To be honest it will never work. Only women watch stuff like that. Even Steve Harvey and Michael Biaden have to cater to women. You think men are buying their books? Heck no, because we don’t need to.

Nicole yeah they did, but I don’t think it went anywhere. Since it is Nelly maybe it will have better ratings.
I guess it depends on the subject matter, the view talks about everything from current events to politics so I dont see them doing the same but who knows, I would probably watch just to see whats up. Oh and the comment on Black Men Revealed, I liked that show it was good! It seemed like the men and the women on the show kept it real! haha!
It’s only fair all of us men should get to speak up on whatever in perspective , especially as widowers must have a place as equally as unmarried men have to have a place .

This will be interesting. I will watch it as long it has quality to. The one with John Salley and the other guys was whack, no substance to it that’s why that failed. And black men revealed was very good. I don’t know what happened to that. That just got hushed right on out the door.
Yes I would watch this show i love nelly and his music. I think he is sexy as hell.
