There are rumors that cast members of the Real Housewives of Atlanta are threatening to boycott the show over money.

If you watched the reunion special for the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you noticed the typically catty and combative cast members were dull, dry, and disengaged.
It was said that the cast members – angry over not getting residual money from their show being in syndication – vowed not to give Bravo their trademark drama to show them what they would be missing.
Now it seems they’re taking it one step further:

RHOA threatening NOT 2 do season #3 til Bravo reworks their contracts to get PAID when the REAL HOUSEWIVES franchise moves into syndication.
So why are RHOA upset? Unlike REAL actors reality stars DON”T get paid AFTER show ends and runs in syndication unless they HAVE smart lawyers.
I was initially inclined to think this could work, but if you’ve been following The Real Housewives of Orange County you know only two original cast members remain on that show – and it’s still one of Bravo’s highest rated series.
On one end, I feel the housewives but the exact reason why networks opt for reality personalities instead of actors in the guild is because they don’t want to pay them better and give them incentives like residuals.

I’ve never watched that show but if it is one of Brave’s top rated show then they might just give in and give the ladies what they want.
Let em’ go! Buh-bye! After that bore of a reunion show last week, I’d like to see a “new cast” of ATL Housewives. They have turned from Babes to Babies! These women are tired!!!
I love em. Give em more money. They say that this is the highest rated housewives of all, so give em what they want!

I think these shows are low-life, shallow, petty and juvenile.
well I agree with Dina , if its the highest rated housewives show then Bravo should work something out, though it will set a precedence for other reality stars so I doubt they will bend, I watched both seasons and the second season was boring and ridiculous at the same time, I think they need to get rid of a few of them and add some new flava to the show!
Don’t give them one damn dime more. They should have had that worked out before they flapped thier classless gums on television. They knew what they were getting into. I say bring on some “real” so we can have some compassion for a “real” nousewife because it isn’t easy running the house, having a career and being a soccer mom, satisfying wife and basically the homes business manager. RHOA these broads were selfish it was all about them. A real housewife wants to watch a real damn housewife.
I say give them the money. Ain’t nothing a matter with Sista’s getting paid. Heck most of them are unmarried and unemployeed so they gotta get that money some how.
Bravo pay up, this your highest rated show ever.

I hope they don’t give them anymore money.They make enough money embarassing themselves and black women, while promoting negative stereotypes. The fact that they are willing to cause more drama for money says it all.

I HARDLY WATCH THE FIRST SHOW.I AGREE WITH KAREN C.I LOVE KANDI BECAUSE TO ME I FELT LIKE SHE LIVING THE REAL LIFE.THE OTHER WAS LIKE MOVIE TYPE. SO IF THEY DO ANOTHER SHOW REMOVE SOME LADY’S AND ADD SOME WOMAN LIKE KANDI.
Why not give them more money? We can argue all day, but the facts don’t lie. They are very popular. They are killin’ it in the ratings for Bravo. And, there are a lot worse things these women could be doing for money. IMO, the worst one on the show is the token white girl/mistress.
This is an opprotunity for these women to use their platform to be positive. It is not all bad. Focus on the positive, and let’s stop being “crabs in a bucket” for the sake of being “crabs in a bucket”
We have got to learn how to support eachother. The only one with a problem with alcohol consumption is the white girl. I wish they’d replace her. I refuse to believe that in all of Atlanta they could not find another “successful” black woman for the show. None of the other seasons have a “token”
I say pay them, and pay them well for bringing in the ratings. If you watch the other seasons, these ladies are not doing anything that the other shows aren’t doing.

How about they save the increase and add some real housewives. I loved Kandi but she wasn’t a housewife. I would be happy if they scoured Atlanta for a better group of women with realistic issues other than “I’m fabulous, I am the Jones’, If it doesn’t make me money I wont do it, Big “somebody elses” Poppa, and Maybach falling out the mouth of a women with a ford focus attitude!

both parties will come to their senses. the economy is messed up and these ladies need money.
I say they should take the money they’ve made and go on with their lives. This should be a lesson to them for the future should they decide to stay in show business. They should have read over their contract before they signed it in the beginning, and if residuals and anything else they were concerned about was not discussed they should have brought it up then. One more example of people signing something because they want to be a star and make a lot of money. Businesses generally are in business to make money not necessarily to share it.
Only two out of five of them are real housewives anyway….so why pay them more for something they’re not even getting…real housewives.
i get sick of all the back stabbing, and kandi is the only classey one to me. i like kim, but i think that she should not mess with married men. what goes around comes around.nene is the problem and the only one who hangs on to her is lisa. lisa told kim what nene said and then got afraid of nene and took it back, also i get sick of lisa and her husband,she never talks about het 2 kids with keith sweat.
I think that Bravo should just pay the money..that show probably tripled their ratings and just like the lead actor gets paid more than the rest of the cast, they should look out for them the same way. They need to stop being cheap and stingy and just pay the ladies that are keeping the network paid!
